Today Gail is meeting the guys from the Hatchery. Beijing's first F&B incubator.
Hatchery is a platform dedicated to supporting and growing China’s next generation of food entrepreneurs and concepts. The idea is to bring more of the world’s unique flavors and cuisines to China. The hatchery does that by partnering with entrepreneurs, investors and the community to make dreams come true and take ideas to market.
So, a food incubator… How is it different from a tech incubator?

Well, it has some similarities with any other startup incubator, they help brands grow,connect with potential investors and clients and provide professional guidance and branding ideas but then it is also very different from tech incubators because they focus entirely on dining and allow clients to run a temporary restaurant through the Hatchery.
After years of covering the restaurant industry as a journalist, Gail knows that opening a restaurant is a complicated task. Even if you have a great concept, unpleasant surprises may come from unpredictable directions.
Andrew and James are well familiar with the rocky road on the way to achieving arestaurant dream.

The hatchery space is very unique. It has to change its style and ambient according to the project presented at the moment. Being centrally located was also very important when choosing a space.
