當聖誕歌聲四處響起的時候，就是人們準備歡度聖誕節的時候，現在中國也是，聖誕節之際，無論你走到哪裡，都能聽到曲調不同、內容各異的聖誕歌。有人說，沒有哪個節日像 聖誕節這樣歌曲多、歌者眾的了，追溯歷史，有記載的聖誕歌曲以及與聖誕沾邊的民歌、頌歌、詩詞歌賦不下千首。
《ave maria》萬福瑪利亞、聖瑪利亞、又譯「聖母頌」，原指基督宗教對耶穌的母親聖母瑪利亞表示尊敬和讚美的一首歌，是基督教最經典的歌曲之一。其歌詞最早是由羅馬教廷於1545年起召開的特洛特會議上確定的，但目前為止ave maria已經發展為擁有許多不同的演奏版本，其中以舒伯特和巴赫的聖母頌最為出名。
