Hey, what's up, amigos and amigas, it's your favorite American English teacher, Gabby.
嗨,你們好,朋友們,這是你們最喜歡的美國英語老師,加貝。
Here to help you with another English lesson video right here, at Go Natural English.
這裡有另外一個英語教學視頻可以幫助你,就在《學地道英語》。
Now you've been asking me a lot about how to think in English.
你們問了我很多關於如何用英語思考的問題。
How to grow your vocabulary in English and how to perfect your accent in English to be a more confident, fluent English speaker.
如何增長你的英語詞彙量,如何完善你的英語口音,成為一個更自信,流利的英語演講者。
And I'm here to help you, so we're gonna talk about how to do those things in a fun way,
我來幫助你,所以我們要談談如何以一種有趣的方式做到這些。
the way that I did this in Spanish, Portuguese and other languages that I've been learning.
就像我用西班牙語,葡萄牙語和其他我一直在學的語言做這些事情一樣。
The number one way that I personally enjoy, and everyone is different, maybe this won't be for you.
第一種方式是我個人最喜歡的方式,每個人都是不同的,也許這並不適合你。
But I'm gonna share the number one way that worked for me. And give you some examples.
但我要分享的是最適合我的方法。舉幾個例子。
Alright, so if that sounds good, then keep watching.
好的,如果這聽起來不錯,那麼繼續看。
When I was learning Spanish, I had a job waiting tables in a restaurant,
當我學習西班牙語的時候,我在一家餐館做服務員,
and I wanted to be able to practice my Spanish while I was working, but there was actually no one to talk to.
我想在工作的時候練習西班牙語,但實際上沒有人和你說話。
I was waiting tables all by myself.
我一直獨自當服務員。
But, you know, I would have to clean the tables and set the tables,
但是,你知道,我得清理桌子,擺好桌子,
and while I was doing that,
當我做這些的時候,
what I would do to practice Spanish is, to sing one of my favourite songs.
為了練習西班牙語,我會唱一首我最喜歡的歌。
So I learned several songs that I personally liked.
所以我學了幾首我個人喜歡的歌,
And I would just sing them to myself under my breath as I was cleaning the tables.
我在擦桌子的時候就會小聲地唱給自己聽。
So I'd be like, \"besame que quiero sentir tus labios...\" and I forget the rest of the song.
我會唱,besame que quiero sentir tus labios……我忘記了這首歌的其他部分。
But something like, \"otra vez...\"
唱otra vez……
So, um, yeah, you might know that one.
所以,嗯,是的,你可能知道那個。
It's kind of a classic Spanish song.
這是一首經典的西班牙歌曲。
A merengue.
一首梅倫格舞曲。
And I would kind of like, dance a little while I was, you know, setting the tables, like \"que quiero sentir tus labios besame otra vez...\"
我想跳一會兒舞,你知道,我在擺桌子時,會像這樣,que quiero sentir tus labios besame otra vez……
That's it.
就是這樣。
Okay, so it came back to my mind.
好吧,我又想起來了。
If you know this song,
如果你知道這首歌,
you know, it's a really old song, so don't blame me if I didn't remember the lyrics right away.
你知道,這是一首很老的歌,所以如果我不記得歌詞也不要怪我。
So you can do this too, with English.
所以你也可以用英語這樣做。
And I don't know your taste in music.
我不知道你對音樂的品味。
I don't know if you like dance music, If you like Country, if you like Hip-hop, pop.
我不知道你是否喜歡舞曲,是否喜歡鄉村音樂,是否喜歡嘻哈音樂,流行音樂。
Whatever you can tell me in the comments.
無論什麼你都可以在評論中告訴我。
Actually, what kind of music you prefer to listen to.
實際上,你更喜歡聽哪種音樂。
But I can tell you there's some great songs out that really cross genres.
但我可以告訴你,有一些很棒的歌曲是跨流派的。
And you'd probably enjoy.
你可能會喜歡。
The lyrics are fairly clear, although in some songs it's really hard understand the lyrics.
歌詞相當清晰,儘管有些歌曲很難理解歌詞。
So I'm gonna recommend some songs now for you to learn in English.
所以我現在要給你們推薦一些歌曲來學習英語。
Because it's not only fun to learn the songs, because you like the music,
因為學這些歌不僅有趣,因為你喜歡音樂,
but you're going to learn new vocabulary words when you see the lyrics, you're going to be naturally curious.
而且當你看到歌詞的時候,你會學到新的詞彙,你會很自然地感到好奇。
If you don't know a word and song lyrics are a great way to learn new vocabulary that's current.
如果你不知道一個單詞,歌詞是學習新詞彙的好方法。
You're gonna learn more slang.
你會學到更多俚語。
And you're gonna learn more English the way that people really talk in everyday life.
你會學到更多的英語,就像人們在日常生活中所說的那樣。
It's usually more casual,
通常比較隨意,
but that's important if you want to have everyday conversations with people, you know in the streets, in a bar, or at a party, or something.
但是如果你想和人們進行日常對話,比如在大街上、酒吧裡、派對上,這是很重要的。
Now, this could be a problem if you're taking an English class.
如果你在上英語課,這可能是個問題。
Like, when I was taking a Spanish class, I was listening to a lot of Merengue.
就像當我在上西班牙語課時,我聽了很多梅倫格的音樂。
And I remember, I used a word in one of my papers in Spanish class that my teacher did not like.
我記得,在西班牙語課上我的其中一篇論文用了一個老師不喜歡的單詞。
And she gave me a bad grade on that paper because she said that the word I use was not appropriate for a paper for an essay.
她給了我的論文一個很差的分數,因為她說我用的這個詞不適合寫文章。
So, if you're Dominican, you might know this word, \"vaina\".
如果你是多米尼加人,你可能知道「vaina」這個詞。
So I said in my paper, I said something like \"esa vaina no es verdad\".
所以我在我的論文中說,我說了「esa vaina no es verdad」之類的話。
And I don't remember even what the essay was about, but my teacher circled it.
我甚至不記得那篇文章是關於什麼的,但是我的老師把它圈了起來。
She said \"vaina\" is not an appropriate word for an essay,
她說「vaina」不適合寫文章,
but I love the word, because people actually use that word all the time.
但我喜歡這個詞,因為人們實際上一直在用這個詞。
Am I right, Dominicans? If you're watching comment, tell me I'm right.
我說的對嗎,多米尼加人?如果你在看,請評論告訴我我是對的。
I need some validation.
我需要確認一下。
Because \"vaina\" is such an awesome word.
因為「vaina」是一個非常棒的詞。
I love it.
我愛它。
So there's words like that in English that you should learn, that your English teacher might not tell you.
所以英語中有很多這樣的詞你應該學習,但你的英語老師可能不會告訴你。
Because he or she might be really obsessed with proper English.
因為他或她可能真的痴迷於正統的英語。
Which is great, if you want to speak proper English.
如果你想說一口正統的英語,這樣很好。
You should know how to do that.
你應該知道怎麼做。
However, you should also know how to use everyday vocabulary.
然而,你也應該知道如何使用日常詞彙。
And how to talk with people, and how to understand a common conversation.
以及如何與人交談,以及如何理解常見的對話。
So, song lyrics are also gonna help you a lot with your pronunciation, because there's a rhythm, right?
所以,歌詞也會對你的發音有很大幫助,因為有節奏,對吧?
Music takes the rhythm of the words, or the words match the rhythm of the music.
音樂是文字的節奏,或者文字與音樂的節奏相匹配。
'Cause you wanna think about it.
因為你想好好想想。
And you're gonna learn the stress of words, the stress of phrases.
你要學習單詞的重音,短語的重音。
The way that we link sounds together, from word to word, from phrase to phrase.
我們連接聲音的方式,從一個詞到另一個詞,從一個短語到另一個短語。
And this is something that your textbook may not be teaching you.
這是你們的課本上可能沒有教過的東西,
So, also the tune, the music itself helps us to remember everything together.
同樣,音樂本身也能幫助我們記住所有的事情。
The vocabulary, the pronunciation.
詞彙,發音。
Everything in that tune, is going to help trigger your memory and help you to remember it.
這首曲子裡的所有東西,都會幫助你喚起記憶,幫助你記住它。
Because when we connect sounds, music, to other things that we're learning, it does help us to remember.
因為當我們把聲音,音樂,和其他我們正在學習的東西聯繫起來時,它確實幫助我們記憶。
So learning a song that you love, is super helpful.
所以學習一首你喜歡的歌,是非常有幫助的。
I would recommend Hello, by Adele, and Anything, by the Beatles.
我會推薦阿黛爾的《Hello》和披頭四的《Anything》。
Shape of you, by Ed Sheeran, and See you again, by Wiz Khalifa.
艾德·希蘭的《Shape of You》和維茲·卡利法的《See You Again》。
These are all super popular songs that you might enjoy learning the lyrics, too.
這些都是超級流行的歌曲,你可能也喜歡學習這些歌詞。
So use music as your tool as a fun way, to improve your English skills.
所以用音樂作為你的工具,作為一種有趣的方式,來提高你的英語技能。
This will help you to think in English, because as you work or as you do other things, you can sing to yourself.
這將幫助你用英語思考,因為當你工作或做其他事情時,你可以對自己唱歌。
You can think the lyrics, you can sing out loud, you can... you know...
你可以想像歌詞,你可以大聲唱出來,你可以……你知道的……
Sing inside your head or actually sing under your breath, or just really let it out and sing out loud.
在你的腦袋裡唱歌,或者低聲歌唱,或者只是真的唱出來,大聲地唱出來。
You know, if no one else is around, right, or maybe if there are other people around.
你知道,如果周圍沒有其他人,或者周圍有其他人。
Hey, maybe if you're really good.
嘿,如果你真的很厲害的話。
This will be a great way to earn money too.
這也是一個賺錢的好方法。
You can put out the tip jar and you can just go with it and see what happens.
你可以把小費罐拿出來,帶著它唱歌,看看會發生什麼。
Okay.
好吧。
Anyway, this will also help you to improve your vocabulary, as you look up new words from the lyrics,
無論如何,這也會幫助你提高你的詞彙量,當你從歌詞中查找新單詞時,
go online just type in lyrics and the song that you want to learn.
上網輸入你想學的歌詞和歌曲。
And there's lyrics for... every song out there, and also this will help your pronunciation.
就有歌詞……每首歌,這也會幫助你發音。
As I mentioned, listen carefully to the way that the singer is saying the words, singing the words and emulate that.
就像我提到的,仔細聽歌手說歌詞的方式,然後模仿。
Even if you don't sing, if you just say the words with the same cadence, the same rhythm,
即使你不唱歌,如果你只是用同樣的節奏,同樣的節奏說單詞,
and you're going to improve your speaking skills.
你將會提高你的講話的技巧。
每天學一點英語
