西工大新聞網12月23日電（李沐坤 李璨 錢禕禕）為提升我校同學的英語表達能力，鍛鍊語言應用能力，激發其國際化發展潛力，由共青團西北工業大學委員會主辦，西北工業大學倫敦瑪麗女王大學工程學院團工委承辦的第四屆「星辰杯」英語演講比賽於10月底拉開帷幕。本次比賽的主題為「The Historical Origin of Hometown Cuisine」，經過初賽的層層選拔，共有15名選手脫穎而出，成功晉級決賽。
2020年12月20日晚，第四屆「星辰杯」英語演講比賽決賽於教學東樓A座410報告廳拉開帷幕。瑪麗女王工程學院副院長程茵、外國語學院劉美巖教授、高㛃副教授、高葆華、Tim Kingham老師擔任評委。比賽由2020級學生曲暢、雷博瀚主持。
在比賽過程中，各位選手按照先前隨機決定的演講順序依次上臺。結合自己的PPT，以演講和展示相結合的方式分享了自己對家鄉美食淵源的理解，同時表達了對家鄉故土深切的依戀之情。
李豐源同學聲情並茂的向大家介紹了家鄉的美食，並將美食的特點與當地風俗文化相聯繫，令在場觀眾更為深入了解到河南及其美食文化。"Pragmatic and moderate, are the virtue and wisdom of Chinese nation, and both of them construct the distinctive cuisine culture of Henan province.」
江宇軒同學介紹了自己的家鄉江西和當地的美食，引起了評委老師和同學們的濃厚興趣。「My hometown, Jiangxi, located in southern China, is a good district with abundant fish and rice. Jiangxi cuisine has a long history, which is known as the "ninth major cuisine" in China. Inheriting from the ancient "literati cuisine" in the Tang dynasty, modest Jiangxi people absorbed the advantages of different cuisines and finally formed Jiangxi cuisine with unique local flavor. The main characteristic of Jiangxi cuisine is the original flavor. It is salty and spicy, but not greasy.」
方竹韻同學分享了自己家鄉四川的豐富美食文化。「Sichuan has a very long history of pasta,which you must have heard of ,at least like sour and spicy vermicelli,the Dandannoodles, comes from ancient porters who sold noodles on a pole in the street, the-pole was called biandan inChinese,that is why we haveDandannoodles.」最終，這三位同學憑藉著精彩的表現、豐富有趣的演講內容斬獲本次比賽的一等獎。此外，張都、侯思宇、葉千浩、馮卓雅、薛博恩同學獲二等獎，林奕詢、韓瑞峰、王子月、劉曉朋、朱妍霏同學獲三等獎。
在同學們精彩的演講後，評委老師對選手們的表現給予高度讚賞，並結合演講內容進行了點評，希望同學們在課餘時間豐富自己的生活，努力學習，堅持不懈，不斷取得新的進展。
最後，程茵對第四屆「星辰杯」演講比賽進行了總結髮言。她首先向共青團西北工業大學委員會及院學生會對本次比賽的精心組織表示感謝，對選手們的表現給予充分肯定，希望同學們再接再厲，不斷提升自己的英語語言交流能力，更好的投入到專業課學習中去，為國際化多元發展打下堅實基礎。
