一、名詞還可分為可數名詞與不可數名詞
2）不可數名詞指無法用準確的數字來說明數量的詞。
比較常見的不可數名詞是—些液體（飲料）、食品或調料類名詞。不可數名詞沒有單數和複數之分。但在句子裡出現時，用法更接近於單數。如：The water is in the glass.水在杯子裡。There is some juice in the fridge.冰箱裡有一些果汁。
對於不可數名詞，我們也可以採用不同的方式來表示其數量：
①模糊性修飾I want some tea, please.請給我來點茶。There is a lot of rice in the bowl.碗裡有很多米飯。其他的模糊修飾語還有plenty of, much, a little, a bit of等。
②確切性的單位詞Here is a packet of salt.這裡有一包鹽。Can I have two bars of chocolate?我能吃兩塊巧克力嗎？
相類似的還有 a bag of, a bottle of, a piece of 等。
學習小貼士：不可數名詞，顧名思義就是數不清的，所以表示液體的單詞如water，tea，coffee，juice等都屬於不可數。另外如hair，chocolate，salt，bread，paper等這種很難數清或是由於形狀的變化就會導致數量的變化也是不可數名詞的範疇。
要注意的是：不可數名詞由於沒有單複數，所以單詞的前面不可能出現a/an，單詞後也不會加s，但是可以用the，some或單位詞來修飾，在用單位詞時也會牽涉到單複數，但僅僅體現在單位詞上。
如：There is a piece of bread on the table.桌子上有一片麵包。
There are two pieces of bread on the table.桌子上有兩片麵包。
Please give me a bottle of milk.請給我一瓶牛奶。
Please give me two bottles of milk.請給我兩瓶牛奶。
值得注意的是，不可數名詞在問數量的時候，不可用how many，而是用how much。
如：How much milk did you have？你喝了多少牛奶。
How much water is there in the glass？杯裡有多少水？
