春夏之交，容易感冒，小夥伴們在享受溫暖陽光的同時，可千萬要注意哦！俗話說「春捂秋凍」嘛！
那如果真感冒了，有些人硬扛扛過去了，有些人還是得吃藥額。但是要注意，英語中的「吃藥」，咱們可不能說「eat medicine」哦！為啥？我們來看看。
1）「吃藥」為啥不是「eat medicine」？
英語中說eat時，其實很多都伴隨著chew（咀嚼）的行為，牛津詞典是這麼解釋eat的：Eat means you put food in your mouth, chew it and swallow it，也就是把食物放進嘴裡，咀嚼一下，然後再吞下去。
舉個英語例句：I usually eat some bread for breakfast.（我通常早餐吃些麵包）。
而如果說到「吃藥」，其實應該是「服藥」，一般就著水直接吞下去了（當然不排除有些人就喜歡嚼一嚼，味道更好），因此，英語中常用「take medicine」或者「have medicine」（have是個中性詞，很萬能，可以代表吃喝服用等等）。
舉個英語例句：You should take the medicine three times a day. （你需要一天吃三次藥）。
2）Take your medicine
Take medicine是吃藥，take your medicine卻不是「吃你的藥」？從字面上看就是「吃你的藥」啊，確實，在一定語境下是可以這麼理解的。
但是，在口語中，很多時候該「medicine」常引申為特別「苦的藥」，指某人接受他應得的後果和不幸（源於有些藥很苦但你為了身體康復也得受著）。
因此，take one’s medicine指接受懲罰或忍受不愉快的事物，有點自食其果的感覺。
英語例句：
① Mom，I know I did wrong and I have to take my medicine.
老媽，我知道我做錯了，我明白我得承擔一切後果，接受懲罰。
② Adam doesn’t want to take his medicine so he just runs away.
亞當不想接受懲罰，所以他就跑掉了。
3）A taste of one’s own medicine
這個詞組從字面上看是「嘗一下某人自己的藥」，再結合下英文解釋：If you give someone a taste of his own medicine，you treat him in the same way that he treated you，也就是如果你「給某人嘗他自己的藥」，意味著你用他對待你的方式對待他！
猜到了吧，咱們有句俗語就叫「以其人之道還治其人之身」，也可以說beat someone at their own game（之前有分享的哦）。
英語例句：
① Give him a taste of his own medicine and make him wait for you，maybe he will not be late next time.
你就以其人之道還治其人之身，讓他等你一次，也許下次他就不會遲到了。
