Disney’s live-action remake of the Rudyard Kipling classic The Jungle Book doesn’t hit China theaters until April 15, but the trailers already have fans on the edge of their seats. Plenty of people remember the1967 animated version as a staple of their childhood, and it』ll be exciting to see how film makers managed to revive and retool the well-known story for a new audience.
For instance, the characters in the 2016 remake won’t just come to life on screen, they』ll literally 「jump out」 at the audience, in the first-ever 3-D version of the Disney classic.
Luckly for us who are in China right now, almost all chinese cinemas offers the 3D option not 2D, so we are really going to enjoy the live-action ! But
Critics warn that the remake will be a totally different experience from the Jungle Book cartoon.
So, buy your tickets now ! Cause it's going to be an epic story !
( Watch the trailer below)
1. The animation
Neel Sethi is the only person acting in The Jungle Book. Jon Favreau gave life to the legendary characters of Baloo, Bagheera, Shere Khan, Kaa via brilliant mix of CGI. The fur on the jungle creatures, especially the shine on the panther's black one, looks like you can run your hand through it.
The scene where Mowgli says goodbye to Raksha, shows every wet strand on the wolf and it looks realistic. Same is the case with the water and don't get me started on the fire!
2. Dubbing
Bill Murray for English and Irrfan Khan for Hindi dubbing for Baloo the bear steal the show. Hats off to the casting director. Care free, smartass, bum of the jungle gets its charm because Murray and Khan give that additional upbeat ring to it.
Another hat tip to Nana Patekar and Idris Elba for their diction. The CGI Bengal tiger looks more terrifying because of the crisp dialogues coming out of its mouth (let's leave the talking animals part for later debates)
3. Songs which will make you nostalgic
'Jungle jungle baat chali hai' has been one of the fondest memories of the childhood of every 90's kid. Same goes for people who watched the 1967 original. They go gaga over 'Bare Necessities' and 'I Wanna Be LikeYou'. You cannot leave the movie hall without these tracks stuck in your head!
4. Neel Sethi
Like I said earlier, he is the one doing all the acting on screen.Imagine talking to nobody in front of green screen and expressing all the right emotions at the age of 12. Fun, isn't it? Just add expectations worth millions of dollars and we will be able to understand the daunting task cut out for NeelSethi.
Kudos to the boy, he becomes Mowgli.
5. End Credits
No, there are no clues like they do with Marvel movies. But you have to stay until the last credits roll because of the songs and brilliant animation.
Note : parents who might be considering taking their kids to see the 3-Dversion should think it over. India’s Censor Board Of Film Certification has granted the film a 「UA」 rating, meaning that kids should only go see the film if accompanied by an adult. In a statement, censor chief Pahlaj Nihalani cited the visuals in the 3-Dversion as a major reason for the rating.

Mowgli is back in the jungle! I loved this movie! It really brings back the memories when I was watching The Jungle Book (1967) as a kid on VHS, singing along to Bare Necessities, which of course came back in this movie. It has the Disney drama, some iconic classic moments, the humor, a bit of musical put in, the happy ever after. It's just a classic Disney movie! Besides a few scary moments I think kids will love this movie. It's perfect for to go and see with the family! I really liked the performance of Neel Sethi that played Mowgli and most of all Bill Murray as the lazy bear Baloo! I'm always afraid when the big studios bring back these kind of movies, but with this one it really worked out well and it brought the nostalgic feeling. I would definitely recommend watching it, for young and old!

The Jungle Book in every way is an awesome movie.I'm from kerala. 15-17 years ago my friends watched TV serials of Mowgli. I didn't because I don't have TV. I only read comics of Jungle Book. When I see the movie... What did I tell guys,, Oh my god.. I was in another world of 2 hours. The animals and jungle are very realistic. The little Mowgli is so cute. And that one is completely CGI. When I watched Life of Pie the tiger in that movie is amazing and realistic .But Sher-Khan (The Tiger) is very frightening and more realistic in this movie. I am giving 10 out of 10 because I really wanted to see this type of movie. The music in this movie by John Debney and directed by the director of Iron Man.
Exceeds expectations!!

More than children, parents are going to enjoy this movie as this movie defines more excellence than the original book itself! Well, you might already know the premise of this film but anyway.. here it goes..
Raised by a family of wolves since birth, Mowgli must leave the only home he's ever known when the fearsome tiger Shere Khan unleashes his mighty roar. Guided by a no-nonsense panther and a free-spirited bear, the young boy meets an array of jungle animals, including a slithery python and a smooth-talking ape. Along the way, Mowgli learns valuable life lessons as his epic journey of self-discovery leads to fun and adventure.
The performances are amazing. Neel Sethi can be referred as "a small bomb, but a loud blast". His performance as Mowgli was terrific. Bill Murray enacts the same lazy old bear we know, and exceeds in fulfilling expectations. Ben Kingsley satisfies on delivering Bagheera. Scarlett Johannson does not provide a performance as great as the others but is just.... "good".
Last but not the least is the greatest performance provided from the whole cast, Idris Elba as Shere Khan!! He outperforms everyone with a cunning and terrifying voice, which is justified for the villain's character
To be honest, I thought this movie was going to be another big bomb after Batman V Superman. But if you felt the same, prepared to be amazed from this epic journey. Hats off for The Jungle Book!!
