stress out
Subject to or undergo extreme pressure or strain, as from working.
For example, I badly need a vacation; I'm just plain stressed out from this job and its aggravations.
He's so stressed out lately.
Pressure is the force that is applied to something and stress is the reaction directly related to it. In other words, if a heavy object is on top of me, the pressure would cause my body to stress. However, if my boss is pressuring me to meet a deadline, the stress part is up to me, (that is where the internalization comes from). So in most cases when something is said to be stressed, it is most likely pressured as well, but that is already indicated by saying it is stressed.
