catch up with  趕上 & fall behind  落後

用法：

catch up with與keep up with同義，後面一般要跟上表示人、新聞、時尚之類的名詞或者代詞，而fall behind表示「落後於」，在句中可用作獨立的謂語成分，也可以接賓語。
例1：

In the morning, I just sit in comfort and read the papers to catch up with the news.
早上，我舒服地坐著，讀著報紙，以便了解新聞。
句子結構分析：

In the morning是時間狀語，I是主語，just sit是謂語，in comfort是方式狀語，and是連接兩個句子的詞，read是謂語，the papers是賓語，to catch up with the news是狀語。
例2：

China does not fall behind other countries in terms of economic development.
在經濟發展方面，中國並沒有落後於其他國家。
句子結構分析：

China是主語，does not fall behind是謂語（does起強調作用），other countries是賓語，in terms of economic development是狀語（in terms of表示「在…方面」）。
