Kunming University in south-west China’s Yunnan province has confirmed that one of their students died on June 13, reports the People’s Daily Online.
據《人民日報》報導，日前經雲南省昆明大學證實，該校一名學生在6月13日死亡。
Police announced that the fight broke out after the victim had started singing and hit the suspect with a chair.
據警方表示，死者起先在唱歌，然後用一把椅子打了犯罪嫌疑人，後來兩人便發生了打鬥。
The victim has been named locally as Peng Moumou, an 18-year-old freshman student at the university.
受害人彭某某，18歲，是該校大一新生。
He reportedly shared a room with the suspect and students claim that the pair did not get on.
據報導，他之前和犯罪嫌疑人住在同一間宿舍裡，有學生說他們兩人相處得不好。
China News spoke to Kunming police who said that Peng started singing which caused the pair to start arguing.
中國新聞網採訪了昆明警方，據稱當時彭某某在宿舍唱歌，從而導致兩人發生了爭吵。
The situation soon escalated as Peng grabbed a chair and hit the suspect with it. The suspect then pulled out a knife and repeatedly stabbed Peng.

The victim was taken to hospital where he later died from his injuries.
