now that 作「既然」講時，相當於since。now that中的that 可省去。如：
Now(that)you are well again, you can travel. 你既然恢復了健康，就能夠旅行了。
due to 作「起因於、歸功於」時，常作表語或跟在名詞後，如：
His failure is due to the fact that he lacks experience. 他的失敗源於他缺少經驗。
Mistakes due to carelessness may have serious results. 粗枝大葉造成的錯誤可能帶來嚴重後果。
The team’s success was largely due to her efforts. 該隊的成功在很大程度上是由於她的努力。
because of 「由於、因為」，在句中作狀語或表語。如：
Lincoln is admired because of his good leadership.林肯由於其出色的領導而受到人們的讚賞。
His anger is because of your bad deeds.他是因你的失禮行為而生氣。
owing to 「由於、因為」，常在現代英語中與because of, due to換用。如：
Owing to unfavourable weather, I was unable to carry on with it. 由於天氣不好，我不能把它進行下去。
nowhere 放在句首，該句應使用倒裝結構。
Nowhere is there a place for him to settle down.
類似的副詞還有hardly scarcely, no sooner,seldom, never, little等。
Of + n.（抽象句詞）相當於該名詞相應的形容詞，在句中可用作表語或補語。
能用於該句型的名詞有：help/ use/ value/ importance等。其對應的形容詞分別為：helpful/ useful/ valuable/ important.
①This book is of great use/ very useful. 這本書很有用。
②His advice is of great value/ very valuable. 他的建議很有價值。
③English is of great importance/ very important to us. 英語對我們來說很重要。
