" 他是世界上第一位威士忌專職作家，他根據威士忌的香氣，口感，餘味和平衡度這四個維度來評判一款威士忌，每一項分值25分，總分100分。這種品酒方法被圈內人稱作「酒神品酒大法」。他就是《威士忌聖經》的作者--Jim Murray。"
Jim Murray
1957年11月13日出生於英國，讀書的時候就開始為當地的報紙報導體育賽事，16歲的時候還開辦了自己的電視機節目--Murray on Monday。1975年的時候他第一次參觀威士忌酒廠並深深地迷戀入威士忌。自此，他多次利用去去蘇格蘭工作的機會參觀當地的釀酒廠，在1992年的時候離職成為一個全職的威士忌作家。
Jim老爺子三次獲得了格蘭菲迪威士忌作家獎，2003年推出的《威士忌聖經》更是奠定了他在威士忌圈的地位。之後的每一年，他都要為1000多款新發布或者比較小眾的威士忌酒款寫下品酒筆記和評分，還要對之前已經有的酒款進行重新評估，才推出新一年的《威士忌聖經》。
擁有豐富的品酒經歷的他曾經說過：」即使你我在相同的溫度下，用一樣的酒杯喝同一款威士忌，我們的分數可能還是不一樣的。因為在我的評分裡，存在一個重要因素，就是以我對這一款威士忌的期望以及自己的經驗來評定」。
因此，《威士忌聖經》只能說是代表著老爺子自己的品位和嗜好。比如今年發布的《威士忌聖經2020》總共包含了近4700款威士忌，除了世界知名的五大產區（蘇格蘭、愛爾蘭、美國、加拿大、日本）之外，還有澳洲、臺灣、奧地利等一共30多個不同國家和地區的威士忌。重點來了，今年榜單的前三甲全部來自美國威士忌，而且這三款威士忌全部來自美國Sazerac酒業集團。美國威士忌已經是連續4年奪得《威士忌聖經》的最佳威士忌了，看來老爺子對美國威士忌還是情有獨鍾，不過我個人覺得蘇格蘭威士忌或者日本威士忌更加符合中國人的口味。
