拿著單詞列表按順序背單詞又枯燥又低效，往往背到abandon就放棄了，再到abortion就流產了。即便能堅持天天背，背完沒兩天又忘了。那有沒有更高效的方法呢？
其實英語單詞跟漢語一樣是有偏旁部首的，只要記住它們，遇到不會的單詞就可以猜，所以要記的東西就大大減少了。這些偏旁部首就是詞根詞綴，因為英語融合了各種語言，比如希臘語、拉丁語、法語、德語，所以詞根也來自不同的語言，根據詞根在源語言中的意思來解釋英語單詞意思的方法叫詞源學。按照詞源學記單詞又快又有意思。
拉丁語visionem, videre意思為「看」，在英語中演化為詞根vis/vid，意思為「看」、「看見」，本期學習這個詞根。
