《神奇甜瓜》
This story is about lazy Lee,
a kind old man,
a magic melon,
and a magic melon seed.
這是一個關於懶人李，
一個慈祥的老爺爺，
神奇甜瓜，
以及神奇甜瓜種子的故事。
Lee hated working.
He liked snoozing much better.
李討厭幹農活，
他更喜歡打盹兒。
"Will you help us grow the rice?"
"No!"
"Will you help us cook the rice?"
"No!"
「你願意幫助我們種莊稼嗎？」
「不！」
「你願意幫我們煮飯嗎？」
「不！」
"Can I help eat the rice?"
"No!"
Soon, Lee was very hungry.
「可以給我一些米飯吃嗎？」
「沒門！」
很快，李餓到不行。
Then he saw an old man with a melon.
"This is a magic melon," said the man.
這時，他看見了一位老爺爺捧著一個甜瓜。
「這是一個神奇的甜瓜。」老爺爺說道。
"What do you want for dinner?"
"Fried rice," sighed Lee.
The man tapped the melon.
Tap tap tap
Ping! There was a bowl of tasty rice.
「你晚餐想要吃什麼？」
「炒飯。」李嘆氣道。
老人輕拍著甜瓜。
彈彈彈
呯！出現了一碗美味的米飯。
Lee ate and ate. "I wish I had a magic melon!"
"You can grow one," said the man.
"But it's hard work!"
李吃得意猶未盡。「我真希望我也有個神奇甜瓜！」
「你可以種一個呀，」老人說。
「但是這可是一個苦活！」
"Here is a seed. Plant it carefully."
"You must water it three times a day."
「這兒有一顆種子。要精心栽培他哦。」
「一定要每天澆三次水。」
At first, Lee did as he was told.
But not for long...
最開始，李按照老人囑咐的話做。
但是沒過多久….
The melon grew bigger...and bigger.
One day, Lee picked it.
甜瓜越長越大。
一天，李摘下了它。
He licked his lips and wished for dinner.
"Mmm, fried rice please."
Tap tap tap
Ping! There was a lump of dry bread.
"Oh no!"
他舔了舔嘴巴祈求著晚餐。
「請給我炒飯。」
彈彈彈
呯！出現了一塊乾麵包。
「噢不！」
Someone laughed.
It was the old man.
"You didn't look after it, did you?"
"You cheated the melon," he said,
"Now the melon is cheating you!"
有人在大笑。
正是那位老爺爺。
「你根本沒有呵護它，對嗎？」
「你欺騙了甜瓜，」他說道。
「現在輪到甜瓜來欺騙你了！」
