1、「Can I get a…」
英國人吐槽：當某些人想要什麼東西時，我經常聽到他們說：「Can I get a…(我能要一個……)」這讓我大為惱火。這裡又不是紐約，又不是90年代，你以為你是在Central Perk裡演《老友記》啊，真是的！
英式表達：Please can I have/ I』d like to order the…
2、「least worst option」
英國人吐槽：下次要是有人跟你講XXX是the 「least worst option」(最好選擇)，你就告訴他們對於他們來說最最最好的選擇是滾回去學語法。
英式表達：The lesser of two evils/the better of the two
eg：I think going with him is the better of two evils/is the better of the two options。
3、」two-time」 and 「three-time」
英國人吐槽：我經歷過的漸漸滲入到英語裡的短語(特別是播音員使用的)是「two-time(兩次)」和「three -time(三次)」。難道double啊triple啊什麼的都徹底消失了麼？從語法上來說，這根本構不成短語，而且用在口語中更糟糕。每次聽到或者看 到它我就心跳加速。這對我的健康造成了威脅，因為基本每天都要經歷這些。我去！
英式表達：double，triple，quadruple，quintuple
Eg：a double occurrence (not a two-time occurrence)
4、24/7
英國人吐槽：使用24/7來表達「全天候」，不如就樸實地說「all day, every day」。
英式表達：All the time/constantly。
Eg：He plays video game the whole time/he constantly plays video games. (不要：he plays video games 24/7!)
5、「deplane」
英國人吐槽：我不能忍受的就是「deplane」這個詞，意思就是下飛機，用法是這樣的：「You will be able to deplane momentarily(您很快就能下飛機了)」。
英式表達：「deplane」這個詞英國人全然不用，連我也只能猜出是什麼意思！正確的詞： disembark, get off the plane。
6、「wait on」
英國人吐槽：有次我讀了一個朋友就在車站等車的消息「waiting on a train」，他所表達的意思是火車一直沒到站，而我卻以為朋友在車上。
英式表達：Wait on = wait for. Wait for train, not wait on a train。
7、「It is what it is」
英國人吐槽：「It is what it is。(這就是事實。)」 同情同情我們吧！
英式表達：不如說：That’s just what’s happened. That’s just how it’s turned out。
Eg：We tried everything to make the situation easier, but that’s just how it’s turned out。
8、「fanny pack」
英國人吐槽：敢不敢提fanny pack(腰包)啊？
英式表達：Fanny Pack = Bum bag. 美語中的fanny是屁股的意思，但英式英語中fanny的意思就指女人的生殖器，慎用！ But fanny packs/bum bags aren’t really around anymore, they’re not considered to be cool!
9、 「Touch base」
英國人吐槽：「Touch base(聯繫)」——這讓我不停地哆嗦。
英式表達： Touch Base = 意思不大清楚，get in touch/get in contact/make contact with s.o 都更好點。
10、「physicality」
英國人吐槽：「Physicality(物質性)」真的是一個詞嗎？
英式表達： Physicality是泛指物質的physical state/condition. Use 「physical」state instead!
Eg：You will be able to disembark the plane shortly/ you』ll be able to get off the plane shortly。
11、 「Transportation」
英國人吐槽：Transportation(交通工具)是怎麼回事？加個ation有必要嗎？
英式表達：就說transport就可以。
12、「leverage」
英國人吐槽：我討厭聽到的詞是「leverage」。把它讀成lev-er-ig(美)，而不是lee-ver-ig(英)。好像各行各業突然都這麼讀了，意思貌似也變成「附加值」了。
英式表達：這是對讀音的不滿，不是用法上的，但leverage在美式英語中有「舉債經營」的意思，英式英語用gearing表達此意。
13、「turn」
英國人吐槽：難道沒人慶祝生日(celebrate a birthday)了嗎？我們一定都要「turn」12歲或者21歲或者40歲嗎？連愛丁堡公爵過生日也統統說成上個月他「turning」90歲。這是 什麼時候開始的？我喜歡這個表達本身，但它似乎取代掉其他所有談論生日的說法了。
英式表達：He’s turning 23已經變成了最常用的說法，但也可以說：it’s his 23rd birthday/he』ll be 23。
14、「shopping cart」
英國人吐槽：我發現現在自己會說：」shopping cart(購物手推車)」而不是shopping trolley ，我非常討厭這一點。我從沒去過美國，也沒在美國生活過。
英式表達：在英國買東西的時候，要說trolley，而不說cart!
15、「gotten」
英國人吐槽：「Gotten(get的過去分詞，美式用法)」到底是個什麼詞？它總是讓我不寒而慄。
英式表達： Gotten?!我的耳朵要出血了！He’s gotten a bit ill?扯淡！應該是He’s fallen ill! The weather has gotten better?屁話！應該是The weather turned out nice!
16、「I’m good」
英國人吐槽：用「I’m good(我很好)」替代「I’m well」，剛剛開始接受了。
英式表達：敗了！I’m good就I’m good吧！
17、「Bangs」
英國人吐槽：用」bangs」表示劉海？??He’s growing bangs???
英式表達：He’s growing a fringe。
18、「Take-out」
英國人吐槽：英國人完全不會說takeout(外賣)，你要是在這兒的話，一定要入鄉隨俗哈！
英式表達：takeaway!
19、「ridiculosity 」
英國人吐槽：Ridiculosity是什麼詞兒啊？我喜歡美式英語，不過我懷疑甚至一些美國人也是虛情假意地在用它們，這份聲明簡直是荒謬(ridiculosity)。
英式表達：該是「ridiculous」！
eg: That statement was the height of ridiculousness/that statement was ridiculous!
20、「A half hour」
英國人吐槽：「a half hour(半小時)」，真讓人抓狂！
英式表達：該是「half an hour」！
eg: He』ll be here in half an hour is better than he』ll be here in a half hour。
21、「heads up」
英國人吐槽：在商業會議上說：Lets do a 「heads up(提醒)」 on this issue。我至今還不知道是什麼意思。
英式表達：這個意思是提前告訴個人某消息，為了讓他們更好做準備。比較正式的說法是I』ll let you know beforehand/ I』ll inform you in advance。
22、「Train station」
英國人吐槽：Train station(火車站)，每次聽到它，我就很惱火。誰開始用這個詞的？他們沒有被罰嗎？
英式表達：railway station比較地道，但是我個人覺得train station 這個說法已經被流行化了，甭太較真了！
23、 「alphabetize it」
英國人吐槽：把一張表按照字母順序排列就是去「alphabetize it」——非常不爽！
英式表達：英國人都說： I』ll put this list in alphabetical order。
24、「my bad」
英國人吐槽：那些在犯錯後說「my bad(我的錯)」的人，我真不知道事情怎麼可以變得如此讓人惱火、將惰性體現得淋漓盡致的！
英式表達：文質彬彬的人都該說： I’m sorry that was my fault/it was my fault/my mistake。
eg：I thought this was the place but I got totally mixed up. My mistake。
25、 「Normalcy」
英國人吐槽：用「normalcy(正常狀態)」真的會激怒我，真想打說的人一個耳光哈！實在太錯了這個詞兒啊！
英式表達：normality
26、「burglarize」
英國人吐槽：作為一名生活在紐奧良的僑民，我有很長一串清單，但是「burglarize(破門盜竊)」是我目前最不喜歡的詞。
英式表達：英國用burgle!
eg：The burglar burgled the house – he didn’t BURGLARIZE it。
27、 「Oftentimes」
英國人吐槽：「Oftentimes(經常)」會讓我惱怒得直哆嗦。
英式表達：有種種比這個詞兒好聽的生詞，比如：often、frequently、usually、regularly、a lot of the time等。
28、 「Eaterie」
英國人吐槽：Eaterie(餐館)。經常聽到，天吶！!
英式表達：RESTAURANT!!!
29、「bi-weekly」
英國人吐槽：美國人需要用bi-weekly(每兩周一次)，fortnightly明明足夠好用了。
英式表達：fortnightly
eg：We meet every fortnight for dinner。
30、「alternate」
英國人吐槽：我討厭用「alternate」替代「alternative」。我不喜歡這個因為它們是不同的兩個詞，它們分別有不同的意思，兩者都很有用。用alternate替代alternative會讓我們失去一個詞。
英式表達：alternate是every other x的意思，比如說：隔日=alternate days,但是alternative是替代性的，an alternative day有改天的意思。
31、「Hike」
英國人吐槽：「Hike(提升)」價格。那是不是意味著「提升價格的人」可以用hikers表示？不，hikers(旅行者)是「漫遊者」的意思好不好！
英式表達：Raise a price/lift a price。
32、「Going forward」
英國人吐槽：Going forward(前進)？如果我要打這個詞，我勢必要和我的鍵盤搏鬥一番。
英式表達：Better to say：in the future/in the near future。
