In week 7, the Digital Citizenship Parent Workshop was organized to help parents get more familiar with the Digital Citizenship Philosophy at NIS, and to introduce methods to better manage the use of digital devices. Before the National Holiday, Family Technology Agreement was emailed to parents, so that they can discuss with their kids about technology use at home during the Golden Week. These are part of our efforts to reinforce the Digital Citizenship Philosophy on and beyond the campus.

As you can see, at NIS technology plays a key role in supporting our mission as an inclusive learning community. However, we strongly believe in balance, and making purposeful use of digital technology in a way that does not consume our ability to function without it. Thus we seek to promote a thoughtful and balanced approach to the use of digital technology by considering the following questions:

When interacting with digital technology on the NIS campus, teachers and students are encouraged to reflect on our Digital Citizenship Philosophy and keep their habits kind, safe and helpful. Should students be found using computers in a manner which does not reflect this philosophy, a meeting with the parents and administration will be called to determine appropriate consequences for the student.
在南京國際學校,當使用數位技術時,我們鼓勵教師和學生反思學校的數字公民理念,並保持他們友善、安全和有益的習慣。如果發現學生使用電腦的方式與這一理念相悖,學校將召集學生家長和管理部門的會議,以確定對其行為的後續處理。
