With my boss being out of the of the country for the past 10 days, I decided to royally take the piss for this week’s Fun Shit Friday and spend two afternoons 「reviewing」 trampoline parks across the city.
Yeah, yeah, don’t try to pretend you wouldn’t have done the same.

Jump 360 Minhang:
The first thing to point out about this place is what a pain in the arse it is to get to. If you’re not willing to shell out RMB80+ for a taxi (setting off from People’s Square) you』ll have to go all the way out to the end of Line 2, East Xujing, and then take bus 1 or 197 to a BYO car dealership, you can find Jump 360 hidden around the back.
Once you walk in the door you realize why it’s so far out – it’s absolutely massive. It’s also not just trampolines. They』ve got bubble football, archery, American-Ninja-Warrior-esque obstacle courses and more. It’s like something you』d find in Michael Jackson’s basement, you know, minus the creepy, weird shit.
My first stop was the trampolines. Now I don’t know if you ever had a trampoline when you were growing up, but I can guarantee you the ones at Jump 360 are nothing like you’re used to – they’re bouncy as hell and perfect for performing tricks on. Best of all the whole place is monitored by trampoline guards (no joke) so that little prick Johnny from next door can’t come over and double-bounce you off your own goddamn toy…
One of the problems with Jump 360 is the sheer number of trampolines to choose from. When I first walked in I didn’t know whether to go on the long trampoline, the volleyball court trampoline, the foam pit trampoline or the basketball trampoline. I tried them all, but as I’m sure you can imagine the best two options were the foam pit and basketball tramps.
The basketball trampoline makes you feel like Michael Jordan (the good Michael Jordan from the 90s, not the Hitler-tasche-toting Jordan of recent years). You can jump, flip dunk, hang from the rim like a champion, it’s all good.
The foam pit trampolines are also amazing. You can basically throw caution to the wind and do whatever you want flip wise – the only caveat is that the trampoline guards will whistle at you if you try to dive in the pit head-first.
The bad part of the pit is the getting out phase. Oh my god, it』d be easier to escape Neverland Ranch or the Sarlacc pit than that foam pit. I won’t go into details, just try it yourself and see.
Jump 360 Baoshan:
Jump 360’s Baoshan branch is a serious improvement on the already impressive Minhang branch. It has almost everything the Minhang has, plus a working ninja obstacle course, a parkour course, a two-story slide and more.
The best thing about the Baoshan location is the trampolines surrounding the foam pit. Rather bizarrely they slope down into the pit which is excellent for two reasons. Firstly, there’s no ledge between you and the foam, meaning that if you mess up during a flip you’re not going to break your leg. Secondly, once you’re in the Sarlacc pit of doom you can use the netted trampoline to pull yourself up and out.
The ninja course is also incredible. The one in Minhang is currently shut for health and safety reasons - best not to ask. In Baoshan, the course is open, it’s long, and it makes you feel completely inadequate as a human – but it’s a lot of fun to watch your friends fail.
To be honest, both trampoline parks are fantastic. If you can go to the Baoshan one go there it's definitely better. Having said that, if you live closer to Minhang, go there. Just remember to wear loose fitting pants or shorts. I left my first bounce session with a huge sack-to-crack tear in my favorite jeans and saw many other poor men and women suffering from the same issue.
