除了for example就不能好好舉例嗎?

在雅思大作文中，無論是哪種題型，都涉及到舉例子。如果光有空洞的說法而沒有具體的例子佐證，文章整體就會顯得空洞。

但是。。。一旦舉例子，除了for example 以外，你還能用哪些表達呢？換著花樣表達「舉個例子」，究竟對你的分數有什麼好處？下面就給結合具體的練習，來看看如何將「舉例」舉出花~





雅思寫作評分標準中Coherence and Cohesion維度，七分段對承接手段的描述如下：

uses a range of cohesive devices appropriately although there may be some under-/over-use

其中range（多樣性）的寫法，是六分段並不具備的。用一般人能理解的方式解釋，就是很多六分考生能夠使用正確的功能語言（包括for example這種CEFR A1級別的短語）。以下為6分考生常規操作

為了在舉例時更加貼近7分的表現，這個range要如何實現呢？捫心自問，能不能換別的詞？能不能換個位置？能不能換詞性？舉例句型升級有啥招？



方法一：最簡單的升級方法，是將承接副詞從句首移動到主語和謂語之間。

移位後：
Young people begin smoking for a variety of reasons. They may, for example, be influenced by…

方法二：除了使用for example這個爛大街的介詞短語，還可以嘗試其他格式。例如單獨使用名詞example （CEFR A1）作主語。

大家有沒有留意到，an example of 這幾個詞總是一起出現？尤其後面跟名詞的情況，介詞of不要寫錯了喲。

方法三： 更好的替換方式，可能是使用及物動詞exemplify。這個用法在劍橋詞典裡面標記為CEFR C2級別，也就是傳說中的9分詞彙。不過注意拼寫和搭配賓語，不要用錯。

注意exemplify 和painting、 style這兩個名詞之間的語義關係，不要把動作執行者和動作承受者寫反了哦~


方法四：如果用膩了example，還可以試試case（CEFR B1）。常見搭配於in the case of sth/sb，比較書面化。

方法五：另一個替換選擇是動詞illustrate（CEFR B2），或者名詞形式illustration，都是不錯的選擇。

方法一：說起插入語這種舉例方式，不得不提such as（CEFR A2）這種被濫用的形式。

方法二：相對低頻的寫法有沒有？有！

單詞不難，但是需要注意是直接搭配其他成分使用，而不是單獨寫在句首。

對於P.I.E段落結構來說，在主旨（point）之後光有舉例（illustration其中一種方式）是不夠的。需要進一步解釋事例如何證明或支撐論點（explanation或evaluation）。所以舉例句後面的句子也要使用相應承接表達。

Overall, these cases support the view that ...

從例子看得出，case常常放在句首（例如主語）位置，這樣就便於將上一句的舊信息（例子內容），和下一句的新信息（解釋或評價）自然銜接起來啦。

小結一下，升級for example的時候可以思考以下幾點：◆ 不改變原句結構的話，可以將整個短語移位到句中。◆ 能夠改變原句結構的，在主語或賓語位置用名詞（example或case）。◆ 或者在謂語位置使用exemplify或illustrate，還可以使用插入語。◆ 最後就是注意和後續句子的承接，注意在句首體現case啦。
