英語答辯是面試中的最後一步，是指考生針對評審專家對課程設計提出的問題進行進一步解釋說明，答辯通常用英語作答。答辯問題常涉及教學內容方面，如教學目標的設定是否合理、教學重難點是否突破、教學方法如何體現、教學活動是否達成教學目標以及是否符合學生發展水平等;此外，還會涉及課堂組織方面，如師生互動如何體現、學生興趣如何激發及保持、教師反饋是否及時有效等。因此，答辯不僅能夠考察考生英語教學的理念、課堂的把控力和引導力，而且能夠考察考生的口語表達能力以及邏輯思維能力。
以下為牛津版高一下期Unit 2 Sports Event寫作課設計答辯問題：注意【參考答案】是用英語和漢語，根據問題判斷是英語還是漢語。
1. What’s your class type of this lesson?
【參考答案】Writing class.
2. Why do you choose students to evaluate their classmates』 works?
【參考答案】At the end of my class, the evaluating part I choose students to do the assessment so that they will listen carefully to their classmates and try their best to find out the expression they used good or not. Then, who answer the question will have a deep memory about the brilliant points he find out and prevent the imperfection the guy made. Not only the listening ability but the speaking ability will be improved. This activity can also enhance students』 host experience.
3. What is the relationship between home tutor and teaching in school?
【參考答案】There are several differences between a home tutor and teaching in school. Firstly, being a home tutor has only a few students to face, while being a teacher in school has many students to teach. Secondly, a home tutor can read a student’s performance and see the patterns to determine what the student needs, but teaching in school can not be care about each student. Thirdly, the teaching plan of a home tutor easier than teachers in school, because there no exist of managing class and so on. However, there are also some similarities between them, being as a teacher is an important foundation of being a teacher in school, it is useful for them to find out the most effective teaching method of these students and also can familiar with the teaching material.

【參考答案】寫作課雖然目的在於教會學生寫文章，但是寫文章是一個長期模仿和積累的過程。尤其是剛上高一的學生，雖然詞彙和句型已經積累了一定的程度，但是合理、清楚的用英語表達自己的想法的能力還十分欠缺。寫前環節設計兩個小文章的閱讀，有以下三個作用：一是讓學生熟悉他們這節課要寫的內容，二是了解如何安排自己的段落內容，三是可以積累一些詞彙、短語，激發學生的靈感，將學生自己的實際生活經驗和本課連接起來。閱讀是輸入的有效途徑，也是最直觀的模仿途徑，所以我在開頭設計了閱讀的環節，幫助學生寫作的進行。
問題二：家庭作業你設計讓學生通過網絡查詢自己喜歡的運動，請談談你對網絡的看法?
【參考答案】首先說網絡一定是我們這個時代最偉大的發明，它讓我們的生活變得便利無比，並且給我們帶來了極大量的資訊。雖然以往經驗看來，網絡是有一定的危險性和誤導性，但我們不應該草木皆兵、談虎色變。合理利用網絡是中學生學習的非常有效的途徑。通過這樣的作業，也能培養學生搜索信息、自學的能力，讓學生和家長都能正確合理的利用網絡。
