但它的的意思你都搞清楚了嗎?

這張圖裡面的短短8個字母，描述了主人公對愛人的無盡思念之情，情深意切，感人肺腑……（咳咳，語文老師喊你回家吃飯= =）

這裡「miss」是想念的意思，指因為某物或某人不在了，或者在離你很遠的地方，因而想念。在這種情況下，不要使用進行時ing形式。

2、Edgar misses his parents now that he’s living in the United States.

3、Yolanda and Juan missed seeing each other when they were apart, but now they’re back together again.

然而上圖的「miss」可不是「想念」的意思了！

這個「miss」的意思稍有不同，指你找不到某樣東西了。在這種情況下，使用ing形式就很常見了。

1、I miss you！我錯過了你！

2、The store is missing a few thousand dollars.

3、She’s missing a front tooth.

4、You’re missing an assignment. Where is it?

5、The police are looking for a missing child.(在這個句子中，「missing」是形容詞。)

「miss」的第三種意思是說，你試圖擊打或者投擲某物但沒有命中，也就是「未擊中/未投中」的意思。

1、I miss you！(YOU——靶心，某女漢子打靶未中= =)

2、Bobby swung at the ball and missed.

3、Sheila tried to throw the cabbage into the garbage, but her aim was bad and she missed. The cabbage fell to the floor.

「miss」的第四種意思是說，約定好了一次見面、一場會議或者某種服務，但你沒能趕上或者你沒去。

1、I miss you！（我錯過了跟女神約會！追悔莫及臉⊙▂⊙）

2、Charles has been missing a lot of meetings lately.

3、You missed your appointment. You』ll have to reschedule.

4、Try not to miss any more classes.

「miss」還有一種用法很重要，和動詞用法完全不同，用作未婚女性的稱謂。（當然，第一個字母要大寫~）

未婚：Miss /mis/

已婚：Mrs. /`misiz/

不確定：Ms. /miz/

1、You must call me Miss!（叫我姑娘！不要叫我阿姨！）

2、Our teacher is Miss Rickenbacker.(她沒結婚，還是單身。)

3、The principal’s name is Mrs. Fender.(她已婚。)

4、Ms. Gibson is a lawyer.(我們不清楚她是否已婚。職業女性通常使用「Ms.」。)
