2019 CWF Three-Year Teacher Education Program for Foreign Language Teachers in Waldorf Schools

Dear foreign language teachers:
After Chinese Waldorf teachers』 Conference of English has worked for seven years, now it is time to make a change. That is, the demand from Waldorf schools in China and the professional development of teachers of English have come to a completely new stage. Like class teachers』 or other subject teachers』 training, it is hoped that the education program can support teachers of English by providing systematic training and helping transform teachers of English, also to support Chinese Waldorf schools by training more teachers of English.The CWF is starting a three-year programme for Waldorf foreign language teachers in association with international Waldorf experts. The programme will introduce the participants to the basic principles of Waldorf education and foreign language teaching in Waldorf schools. The aim is to develop a profession community of Waldorf foreign language teachers who can develop high standards of language learning in Waldorf schools in China.The programme includes:
• Introduction to the generative principles of Waldorf foreign language teaching
• Exploration of the language and language learning and teaching from the perspective of modern Waldorf language theory
• Development of core skills in speech, improvisation, story-telling and drama
• Building a basis for understanding the relationship of language and culture (literature, film, art)
• Self-development of the teacher
• Pupil assessment for learning
• Researching and developing practice.
• Developing and collecting resources
Progression
Foundations: Becoming a Waldorf teacher. introduction to all basic aspects of teaching foreign languages from grade 1 to 11. Basic classroom skills and teaching methods. Establishing a professional community
Year 2 Consolidation: Deepening of all areas of teaching. Developing teaching skills and teacher personality. Building on foundation skills. Sharing skills. Collegial learning from each other
Year 3 Developing expertise: Taking responsibility for language teaching in your school, developing new practice using research.
