根與芽簡介
根與芽是一個國際性的環保組織，其旨在鼓勵青年人發現生活中存在的不合理現象，並通過自身的努力解決這些問題，切切實實的為自然保護，社區建設做出積極的改變。根與芽的活動涉及空氣，環境美化，食物健康，社區，民族文化，植物樹木，和平，寵物，野生動物，水，循環利用這十一個方面，根與芽希望以這十一項主題為載體，讓人們能尊重愛護一切生命，加強不同文化與信仰間的交流，鼓勵更多的人行動起來，make positive change to make the world abetter place to live in。
我們的行動——世界公民節，全球目標
2015年九月，聯合國發布了全球目標，即對抗不平等現象，消除貧困，改變極端氣候這三項「大目標」以及沒有貧窮，沒有飢餓，良好的健康，優質教育，性別平等，清潔水衛生，可再生資源，好工作和經濟增長，創新和基礎設施，減少不平等，可持續城市和社區，負責任的消費，氣候行動，水下生命，陸上生命，和平和正義以及合作實現目標這十七項「小目標」。2015年九月二十七日，為了響應這個目標，在成都的仁恆置地舉辦了世界公民日的宣傳活動，不同年齡段不同膚色的人們聚集到了一起，共同為實現全球目標出這一份力。根與芽作為世界性的環保組織，熱心地投入到這項活動之中，並承擔了第十三項目標「氣候行動」的宣傳工作，而石室中學的傳薪根與芽小組，也作為志願者參與其中。
世界公民節那天，在活動負責人介紹志願者工作後，根小芽（根與芽社員的簡稱）們便兵分五路，投入到緊張而有趣的志願者服務工作中。第一支根小芽小分隊成為了活動的引路人，負責指引遊人們在錯綜複雜的商場地形中找到世界公民節活動舉辦的場所。第二支小分隊充當了協調組織的工作。由於活動組織方中有許多外國友人，根小芽們還需時不時的擔任起「同聲翻譯」的工作。除此之外，協調部的志願者還需向遊客們講解全球目標並幫助參與方布置展位。第三支小分隊負責賣票。「票」並非是活動進場所需的門票，而是遊客在公民日現場買東西時所使用的貨幣。值得一提的是，現場倒是有著不少精品，從中國傳統的油紙傘到土耳其的奇特紋身，從新鮮的三文魚壽司到手工釀製的啤酒（未成年的孩子們不能喝哦），從綠色環保的有機蔬菜到手工製作的木頭項鍊，可謂是琳琅滿目，大開眼界。第四支小分隊在edu-travel的展位裡和小孩子們一起做手工。鳥屋，小羊面具，太陽花，孩子們的世界是豐富多彩的，童真即為真。喜歡音樂的根小芽們去當了DJ的助手。當日除了各展位會舉辦活動外還有著各路音樂人的演出，古典吉他，樂隊的表演讓人們連聲叫好。世界公民日在動人的音樂聲與歡笑聲中演繹著，演繹著。
結語
世界很大，它大到足以讓你抬頭仰望還不識其真面目；世界很小，它小到每一個人都能用自己的微薄之力對其做出一份改變。我們還在改變不美好的美好的路上，全球目標亦是，環境保護亦是，根與芽亦是，你亦是。
*What is Root and Shoots?
Roots and shoots is a program aimed to placethe power and responsibility for creating community-based solutions to big challenges(usuallyabout local and global services project) in the hands of young people.It’s theyouth-led community action and the learning program of Jane Goodall Institude. Thisprogram involves 11 topics which are wildlife，domesticpets，water，plantstrees and landscape,reuse reduce and recycle,peace,human community and humancondition,air,indigenous communities,food and health and beautification.Throughthe program,young people find a specific challenge,make a plan for solutions,andtake action.
*Our action----The GlobalCitizen Festival Chengdu and Global Goals
In September 2015,the United Nationannounced a New Global Goal which was designed to fight inequlity and injustice,endextreme poverty and fix climate change.17 「small」 goals were also created forsustainable development which were no poverty,no hungry,good health,qualityeducation,gender equlity,clean water and sanitation,renewable energy，good jobs and economic growth，innovation and infrastructure，reduced inequality，sustainablecities and communities,consumption，climateaction，life below water，life on land,peace and justice and partnerships forthe goals.On 27th September,Chengdu Global Citizen Festival was heldin Yanload Landmark aimed to coincide with the launch of the Global Goals.Asthe environmental protection oeganisation,Roots and Shoots participated in thisevent as one of the vendor that mainly focused on promoting the goal of climateaction.Shishi Chuanxi Roots and Shoots group also took part in this wonderfulactivity that took on the position of volunteers.
During the activity,Shishi Roots and Shootsgroup divided into five groups.Group 1 took the responsibility for guiding thetourists theright way to the event.Group 2 worked as event coordinators. Theyhelped the vendors arrange their booth and be the interpreter translated theEnglish instruction to Chinese visitors.The job for Group 3 was to sell thetickets which were used to buy the fancy goods in the activity.It’s worth tomention that some of the products were really unique,such as the traditionalartifact paper umbrellas and Turkey tattoo.Group 4 worked for Edu-travel whichis a firm providing Britain Study Tour.They taught children to reuse wastepaper to make handcrafts,such as bird house and animal masks.The members wholove music were the Group 6 that worked with music DJ to play music.By the way,in the event,there were many music shows performed by bands and classicalguitar players.
*Epilogue
The world is so big that what we see isonly the tip of the iceberg.The world is also very small that everyone can makepositive change to make it becomes a better place for animal,human and everylife to live in.
