Recently, according to the press conference of the elderly care service development status in Nanning, Nanning has become one of the 14 new pilot cities of long-term care insurance, taking the lead in carrying out the elderly care service reform in the country.
During the 13th Five-year Plan, Nanning has seized the opportunities of every reform trial and fully furthered the elderly care service reform, earning many titles including the national pilot city of comprehensive reform in elderly care sector, the national pilot city of 「combination of medical treatment and elderly care」, the central financial support pilot city of home- and community-based elderly care service reform, as well as Guangxi’s core zone of comprehensive elderly care service reform. Across Nanning, the number of beds per thousand elderly people has increased to 28 in 2020 from 15 beds in 2015. There are 187 facilities for home- and community-based elderly care service, which is growing from nothing. The city’s home- and community-based elderly care service system has been established step by step.
