英語單詞Miss, Lose的區別

Miss means

• is late for some scheduled things
• feels lonely(孤獨的) because who he/she cares isn’t around us or near to us
• forget about somethings

Miss是錯過、思念、忘掉(錯過)的意思。

Examples:

I missed my company shuttle(擺渡車) bus. (I was late, and when I got to the bus stop the bus had gone away)

我錯過了公司的擺渡車。(可以理解為來晚了，其實也許真實原因是忘掉了時間導致)

I am so sorry that I missed your birthday. (Can be understood as I forgot your birthday. Not only late but also, forgot about it)

我非常非常抱歉錯過(也許是因為忘掉導致了錯過，也許是別的事導致了錯過)了你的生日。

I miss you. (I am not able to go with you, and I feel very sad and lonely)

我想你。(你不在我身邊，我感到好傷心好孤獨)

That is so great to see you again, I really missed you. (I was very lonely when you were not around me)

再次見到你真的太好了，這段時間我好想念你

Lose means

• can’t find something temporarily(臨時) or permanently(永遠)
• failed to do something
• failed the current situation, and have to re-do

Lose是丟了、輸掉、失去某事某物的意思。

Examples:

I lost my pen. (I put the pen somewhere, but I can’t find it right now)

我找不到我的鋼筆了。

We lost the football match. (We hope to win, but we failed the game)

我們輸掉了那場足球比賽。(我們想贏)

I lost my place in the waiting queue. (I was standing in the queue, and I left the queue for some reason)

我失去了我在排隊隊伍裡的佔的位置。(我不得不撤出了隊伍)
