上一次， 我們講解了I have 和I』ve got的用法。
我們先來看下列句子：
Now Robert is at work.
Robert現在在工作。
At midnight last night he wasn't at work.
昨晚午夜時分，他沒有在工作。
He was in bed.
他在床上。
He was asleep.
他睡著了。
在一般過去時中，我們要對be動詞 am / is / are 進行改變，調整為 was / were 的形式：
am / is (present) → was (past):
●I am tired. (now) I was tired last night.
●Where is Ann? (now) Where was Ann yesterday?
●The weather is good today. The weather was good last week.
are (present) → were (past):
●You are late. (now) You were last yesterday.
●They aren’t here. (now) They weren’t here last Sunday.
●Last year Rachel was 22, so she is 23 now.
Rachel去年22歲，今年她已經23歲了。
●When I was a child, I was afraid of dogs.
我還是孩子的時候，特別怕狗。
●We were hungry after the journey but we weren’t expensive.
旅行過後我們都餓了，但是我們不累。
●The hotel was comfortable but it wasn’t expensive.
這個旅館很舒適，但並不貴。
●Was the weather good when you were on holiday?
你去度假的時候天氣好嗎？
●Those shoes are nice. Were they expensive?
那對鞋子不錯。它們貴麼？
●Why were you late this morning?
你今早為什麼遲到？
● 『Were you late?』 『No, I wasn’t.』
「你遲到了嗎？」 「我沒有。」
● 『Was Ted at work yesterday?』 『Yes, he was.』
「Ted昨天上班了嗎？」 「是的，他上班了。」
● 『Were Sue and Steve at the party?』 『No, they weren’t.』
「Sue 和Steve （之前）在派對上麼？」 「不，他們不在。」
Look at the pictures. Where were these people at 3 o』clock yesterday afternoon?
1. George was in bed.
2. Carol and Jack ________________.
3. Sue _________________________.
4. ____________________________.
5. _____________________________.
6. And you? I____________________.
Put in am / is / are (present) or was / were (past).
使用一般現在時 am / is / are 或一般過去時 was / were 完成句子。
1. Last year she was 22, so she is 23now.
2. Today the weather _____ nice, but yesterday it ______ very cold.
3. Yesterday _______ a public holiday so the shops ______ closed. They’re open today.
4. 『_______ Sue and Bill at the party?』 『Sue ______ there but Bill ______.』
5. 『Where are my keys?』 『I don’t know. They ______ on the table but they’re not there now.』
6. You _______ at home last night. Where ______ you?
Put in was / were or wasn’t / weren’t.
使用 was / were 或 wasn’t / weren’t 完成句子。
1. We weren’t happy with the hotel. Our room was very small and it wasn’t very clean.
2. George ________ at work last week because he _______ ill. He’s better now.
3. Yesterday ________ a public holiday so the shops _______ closed. They’re open today.
4. 『_______ Sue and Bill at the party?』 『Sue _______ there but Bill _______.』
5. 『Where are my keys?』 『I don’t know. They ________ on the table but they’re not there now.』
6. You ________ at home last night. Where ________ you?
Write the questions. Use the words in brackets (…) in the correct order + was / were.
用括號裡的詞彙+ was / were 完成問句。
1. (late / you / this morning / why?)
Why were you late this morning? → The traffic was bad.
2. (difficult / your exam?)
___________________________ → No, it was easy.
3. (last week / where / Ann and Chris?)
___________________________ → They were on holiday.
4. (your new camera / how much?)
___________________________ → Sixty pounds.
5. (angry / you / yesterday / why?)
___________________________ → Because you were late.
