"Practice makes perfect" has often been said of learning a new skill. This is equally true of learning mathematics. Take Maggie for example. She would read the explanations and the sample problems in her book, and think she understood them so well that she didn't have to work the problems. She never regarded mathematics as hard until examination times came. Then she found that she lacked the experience in applying what she had learned from reading to the solving of problems. Mathematics is practiced best through the actual experience of solving problems, not just through reading about how to solve them. In math, just like a foreign language, practice makes perfect.
"熟能生巧" 常用來說明學習新技巧一事。學數學亦復如此。就以瑪吉為例，她會看書中的題解及樣題，然後便以為自己搞懂了，也就不必做題了。她從不認為數學很難，直到考試時間到了才明白。接著她便發現她欠缺經驗，無法把她從書上看題解所學得的東西運用出來。練習數學最好的做法便是透過實際的解題經驗，而不是透過閱讀如何解題。在數學的領域中，一如學外文一樣，熟能生巧。
語法重點：
介紹表 "將……視為" 的動詞用法：
1. 下列動詞或短語動詞均須與介詞 as 並用：
regard / view / see / think of / look up on A as B 將 A 視為 B
例：The little boy is so clever that we all regard / view / see / think of / look up on him as a child prodigy.
這個小男童太聰明了，因此我們都視他為神童。
2. 動詞 consider 亦可表"將……視為"，但鮮少與 as 並用，即：consider A as B （罕）
宜用：
例：We all consider the brave soldier to be a hero.（○，to be 常省略）
= We all consider the brave soldier a hero.
我們大家都把這位勇敢的戰士視為英雄。
3. 以上各動詞或短語動詞均可採下列被動語態
The clever little boy is regarded as a child prodigy.
= The clever little boy is looked up on as a child prodigy.
= The clever little boy is considered a child prodigy.
這個聰明的小男童被視為神童。
