香港各大高校自主招生面試大多採用英語為考察語言，面試形式為群體面試和單獨面試。
群體面試是面試環節的核心，每個群面小組由6~8人組成。群面環節開始於考生的自我介紹，考生相互認識後，考官會為每個小組提供一個話題。在簡短的討論後，考生自由發言，該環節時長約30分鐘。
群體面試結束後，考官通常會讓考生就學校相關信息進行提問。另外，一些考生會被考官留下單獨面試，但不是所有考生都需要單獨面試。面試結束後，考生有時會被考官留在現場詢問其他事宜，有時則會要求直接離場，考生聽從安排，禮貌退場即可。
港校面試採用全英文形式，重點考察考生的綜合表現，面試涉及問題從政治要聞到社會熱點，非常多元化。
