今天的主題是關於固定搭配外加介詞的。 這也是最近比較出現的類型， 包括最近發布的 Equivalent TO or OF。
我個人對於介詞存在敬畏， 除了特別肯定的用法， 我都需要查字典得到確認。因此在學習過程中也非常留意一些介詞的固定搭配和用法。這也是一個唯一可行的學習方法。 今天我將分享近期積累的一些以in開頭的常用固定搭配。 他們分別是
in terms of
in search of
in the age of
in the light of
in the span of
in terms of, 在...方面 (used to describe which particular area of a subject you are discussing)
-In terms of money, I was better off in my last job. （論收入，我的上份工作賺的更多）
!!注意， 這裡的terms是複數

in search of， 尋找 （trying to find something）
-She was shot by a sniper when she went out in search of firewood.

in the age of， 在（電子）時代
-In the age of social media, the superficial has been elevated to an extreme level.
!!注意, in the age of不是正式的固定搭配，在牛津字典無法找到，但是in the age of更經常被使用在電子時代， 如in the age of social media, in the age of AI, etc.
at the age of 的意思完全不同， 他表明具體年齡, 因此介詞是更加準確的at
-He joined the army at the age of 18.

-In the light of recent incidents, we are asking our customers to take particular care of their personal belongings.
-We must re-invente conferences or large academic gatherings in light of the present epidemic.

in the span of , 在..時間區間
-I fell into a coma twice in the span of 5 hours!
-In the time-span of the universe, a human life is incredibly short.
i上最後的1點 是一個荷蘭俗語 （de puntjes op de i zetten）， 字面的意思就是給i上面加最後1點。引申的含義就是把事情做到最完美。這也是這個小小英文學習公眾號的初衷， 完善大家英語中容易忽略混淆的細節， 完成i上最後的1點。
