今天分享的英文繪本是《Leo the late bloomer》，老虎一直不開竅，他不會讀書，不會寫字，爸爸很著急，但是突然有一天，他開竅了，也會讀書，也會畫畫了......

Leo couldn’t do anything right.
阿虎是只什麼事都做不好的小老虎。
He couldn’t read.
他不會讀書。
He couldn’t write.
不會寫字。
He couldn’t draw.
不會畫畫。
He was a sloppy eater!
而且他吃起東西來還邋裡邋遢呢！
And, he never said a word.
甚至不曾說過一句話。
"What’s the matter with Leo?"
「他到底怎麼了？」
Asked Leo’s father.
阿虎爸爸說。
"Nothing." said Leo’s mother.
阿虎媽媽說：「沒關係。"
"Leo is just a late bloomer."
"阿虎只是慢一點開竅。」
"Better late than never."
「慢一點開竅總比不開竅好。」
Thought Leo’s father.
阿虎爸爸說。
Every day Leo’s father watched him for signs of blooming.
每天阿虎爸爸都在觀察著：阿虎有沒有開竅的跡象。
And every night Leo’s father watched him for signs of blooming.
每晚阿虎爸爸都在觀察著：阿虎有沒有開竅的跡象。
"Are you sure Leo’s a bloomer?"
「你確定阿虎會開竅嗎？」
Asked Leo’s father.
阿虎爸爸問。
"Patience." said Leo’s mother.
「要有耐心。」阿虎媽媽說。
"A watched bloomer doesn’t bloom."
「常常被盯著的孩子不便容易開竅。」
So Leo’s father watched television instead of Leo.
所以阿虎爸爸就用看電視取代了常常盯著阿虎看。
The snows came.
冬天來了。
Leo’s father wasn’t watching.
阿虎爸爸沒有盯著阿虎看。
But Leo still wasn’t blooming.
但是阿虎還是沒有開竅。
The trees budded.
樹葉發芽了。
Leo’s father wasn’t watching.
阿虎爸爸也沒有盯著阿虎看。
But Leo still wasn’t blooming.
但是阿虎還是沒有開竅。
Then one day,
直到有一天，
in his own good time,
阿虎在自己的世界裡玩的時候，
Leo bloomed!
他開竅了！
He could read!
他會讀書了！
He could write!
他會寫字了！
He could draw!
他會畫畫了！
He ate neatly!
他吃飯變得文明了！
He also spoke.
他還可以說話了。
And it wasn’t just a word.
而且他說的不是一個字。
It was a whole sentence.
是一個完整的句子。
And that sentence was…
那個句子是：
"I made it!"
我終於做到了！
