Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: Parents should limit/control their kids&2 - What if something bad happens?
❗️Point + Reason:
Parents should be cautious about kids using social media because of cyberbullying.
❗️Evidecne/Elaboration:
Anonymous social media apps, like YikYak, may be helpful for children to express their feelings incognito. However, they also allow cyberbullies thrive without any repercussion. For instance, a child anonymously posts 「Jack is an idiot」. While, Jack and everyone else can see it. What if Jack is a very sensitive boy? What’s coming next could be tragic. For parents, this offers a teachable moment. It’s imperative that children learn that what they say online can hurt others.
-anonymous [əˈnɒnɪməs adj. (of a person) not identified by name; of unknown name.
-incognito [ˌɪnkɒɡˈniːtəʊ adj./adv. (of a person) having one's true identity concealed.
-cyberbullying [ˈsʌɪbəˌbʊlɪɪŋ n. the use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature.
-thrive [θrʌɪv v. (of a child, animal, or plant) grow or develop well or vigorously. 興起]
-repercussion [riːpəˈkʌʃ(ə)n n. an unintended consequence of an event or action, especially an unwelcome one.
-teachable moment [an event or experience which presents a good opportunity for learning something about a particular aspect of life.
-imperative [ɪmˈpɛrətɪv adj. of vital importance; crucial.
這段中可以看出的小孩子特徵之一:are emotionally sensitive and thus vulnerable
