Dear Tom,
Thank you very much for your attention to the epidemic situationin China. It was reported that COVID-19 was found in a live animal market in Wuhan. The disease has spread from those who ate bats and got sick to others all around the world, including family members, friends and health care staff.
Firstly, China shuts down Wuhan and other 12 cities in Hubei Province, carrying out travel limits to fight against the disease. Secondly, healthcare staff in China gathered quickly to support Wuhan, with lots of donation. Thirdly, the Government extended the Spring Festival and ordered people to stay at home to resist the spread of pneumonia.
There are a number of ways to protect against infection. These include covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing with a medical mask; avoiding close contact with those who are unwell; washing hands often with soap and water; preventing infection from wild animals.
Please check the Chinese government websites for more information.I hope we can meet together soon.

Since COVID-19 broke out in Wuhan in December, the number of people infected and patients who have died keep climbing. It is reported that the epidemic has something to do with the killing and selling of wild animals at South China Seafood Market. With the decrease of wild animals, many animals are endangered. Worse still, some of them may disappear forever.
There is no doubt that hunting and killing wild animals has a bad influence. For wild animals are killed for their fur, which causes the imbalance of nature. For another, due to the contact between humans and wild animals, epidemics like SARS and COVID-19 may infect humans easily.
As far as I am concerned, something must be done to stop this illegal action. First, Nature Reserves are supposed to be built so as to offer more living space to wildlife. Second, be aware that never have wild animals for food, as they are part of environment. Third, it is high time that weraised people’s awareness to protect wildlife. In this way, we can build aharmonious society and ensure a sustainable development.

Recently, COVID-19 has transmitted all over China even the world. To order to fight against the virus, the students in China have to study at home on computers instead of going to school.
As for online teaching, it has two sides. On the one hand, it not only can save time so that we can do more other things like taking up new hobbies, but also can be convenient for our daily life and study. Besides, after class, we can watch the video again and review the part which we don’t understand. On the other hand, online teaching will increase the time length offacing the computer time which will be harmful to our health, especially lead to vision loss, headaches, a sore neck and sore back. Moreover, Online teachingis short of the learning atmosphere, and will weaken the relationship betweenteachers and students. Last but not the least, some students will cheat in class. While they are having class, they are playing computer games at the same time!
As for me, I prefer to study in class because I really miss my teachers and classmates. And it really makes me feel uncomfortable when I sit in the same way studying on computers without moving. Sometimes the network signal is so weak that it drives me crazy, too! That’s why I’m not a fan of online teaching.

Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you for reading my letter. I’m Li Hua from XinhuaMiddle School. Since COVID-19 has transmitted all over China, I』d like very muchto be a volunteer.
All our citizens are looking forward to playing a part in fighting against the virus, so am I. Here are some things I can do. First, I can help toclean up our International Student Service Center. I know a clean and tidy environment can stop the virus from transmitting. Then, I’m willing to help take theoversea students』 temperature and urge them to wear their masks properly at the entrance of our sevice center. Besides, I can help give out the masks and notices at the gate of Xiashang Supermarket. What’s more, I’m good at getting along with these oversea students. I have a good command of English so that it’s easy for me to teach them how to wash hands correctly and put the used masks in the special trash bins.
To sum up, I believe I can be a qualified volunteer. I will try my best if I’m accepted.
Yours
Li Hua
