Ariela💙
Hello! My name is Ariela but people call me Ari for short. I’m an international student from Guatemala and I am incredibly excited to be an iMentor and meet all of you in August! I am currently undecided as to what my major is but am between International Studies and Political Science… for now. I am vice president of the Jewish Student Union (JSU), public relations chair for the Organización de la Lengua Española (OLE), and work at the Oxford Farm. I enjoy reading, eating, bad jokes, spending time with my friends, and getting excited over even the smallest things (LIKE THIS LADYBUG IN THIS PICTURE IT WAS ON MY FINGER I WAS SO EXCITED). I look forward to welcoming all of you on to our campus and introducing you to our amazing Oxford community!!! I hope you will love it as much as I do :)
Isabela💛
Hello everyone!
My name is Isabela Cardenas. I am an international student from Medellín, Colombia and just finished my freshman year at Oxford! I am a political science and Philosophy major (figured out at Oxford) and to be honest, I am in love with this campus and its community.
Around campus, you might see me working in The Catholic Student Union, OLE (Hispanic student association), and OxMUN. I will always be studying at the library and hanging out with my friends around campus. You might also see me wearing my Greek letters (i'm a sorority girl) and dancing to latino music all around!
At Oxford, I have been able to find an incredible and supportive community that has offered me more than just academic enrichment.
Oxford is my home and I can't wait until you can experience the magic that this small place holds. It is truly incredible!
Can't wait until you're here!!

I lived in Xiamen and Qingdao for 6 years and went to International School there. I love traveling, eating, exploring, venturing, and just having fun! I love all sorts of sports, I love dancing even though I am not good at it, and singing. I love Chemistry too ;D I am majoring in Chemistry but sometimes I regret my decision. I am a president of ChemOx, International Student Advisory Board member, OPA event manager, and an iMentor! I cook Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, and ramen. So if you are hungry during ISW sessions, feel free to talk to me. Heyy』all! My name is Yiran Ge (葛伊然). I’m from Nanjing, China and raised in Dubai, UAE. I’m currently on the pre-health track and I’m still deciding between nursing and biology. For hobbies, I love to dance (modern, hip hop, jazz & Bollywood) and to eat (especially spicy food). I am a member of Nishana Dance Team, Dance Company, International Student Association and Circle K at Oxford. I really enjoyed my first year here and I can’t wait to be a part of yours in the upcoming year. If you have any questions or doubts, please feel free to ask me! See you in August!
Percy💛
Hi, everyone. I’m Percy Xie, and I』ll be your iMentor during ISW. I came to Oxford as a Canadian international student with an undecided major, but the experience I』ve had on campus has shown me that physics is something that I』d love to do. Majoring physics while pursuing the 3-2 Engineering program Emory offers with Georgia Tech is my intend for the moment, so feel free to reach out for any questions regarding it.
Michelle💙
Hi everyone! My name is Michelle and I am so excited to meet you all and welcome you onto the wonderful campus at Oxford! I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, speaking both English and Cantonese (and some Mandarin). I am on the pre-med track, majoring in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology, and I currently work as a Chemistry 150 tutor! I am also very involved in the performing arts, especially with dance and music. I』ve been doing Chinese classical dance and playing piano since I was 5 years old, and I am glad I got to continue both of these passions here by joining both the Nishana Bollywood-Fusion Dance Team and the Asian Fusion Dance Team, as well as helping accompany on the piano in the OxBroadway musical showcase and spring musical. I am also secretary of one of the social clubs on campus, Dooley’s Dolls, where I』ve gotten to meet some of my closest friends. I also love hiking and going on adventures to find delicious food around Atlanta, so feel free to tag along if you want to explore with me! Lastly, please do not hesitate to ask me any questions about anything Oxford-related because even if I may not know the exact answer, I can do my best to refer you to someone else who knows more about what you are curious about!
Joshua💛
Hey! This is Joshua Ni. This is a little something about me. I was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, but I moved back to Shanghai, China when I was five. Though my family planned only to stay for a mere two years, we ended up staying in Shanghai for thirteen years. Through my thirteen years of education, I』ve received homeschool education, Chinese public school education, US public school education, as well as international school education. Of all of the sports there are, I watch Formula One, since I am really into technology, physics, and mechanical engineering. You would think that I would major in engineering, but as a matter of fact, I am majoring in History and Political Science. Despite living abroad for so long, I』ve taken a keen interest in American history and politics. Funny thing is, I was originally going to apply to Georgia Tech, but at the last minute, I decided to change my direction and come here. I am glad I made that decision, since I absolutely love Oxford with the close community and unique education it offers. Now, I am majoring in History and Political Science. In the future, I want to enter into a career in public policy. I personally really enjoy Korean pop culture, but I also listen to Mandarin and American music. I speak Mandarin and English fluently, but I can also speak some rudimentary Spanish and Korean, both of which I’m trying to improve and learn over my college years. I usually spend my free time on YouTube or on movies. I also really enjoy reading and learning about random things. I also really enjoy travelling. The photo of me above is at the Batur Volcano of Bali. I hope to get to know you all better and enjoy the Oxford experience together. See you soon!
Joe💙
My name is Joe. I came from Shanghai, China. I am majoring in Math and physics. Tennis is the one sports for me, and I hope to play with those of you who are interested in tennis soon in Oxford.
Helen💛
Hello everyone! My name is Helen Jiang. I was born and raised in Chapel Hill, NC (so go UNC and Duke?). I speak English and Chinese (Mandarin and the Shanghai Dialect) fluently, and I visit Shanghai almost every year. I am currently thinking about going Pre-business with interests in Marketing, Finance, and Arts Management. I’m also thinking about minoring in Chinese. At Oxford, I am going to be a Supplemental Instruction (SI) Mentor in Fall of 2018, and if you take Math 111, you might have me as an SI! Additionally, I’m currently on the Executive Boards of Taiwan American Student Association (TASA) and Women in Business (WIB). In my free time, I enjoy drawing, reading novels, traveling, and cooking. I watch too much anime and listen to too much Kpop. Over the summer, I’m going to be working, being a camp counselor, and shadowing a director of the EPA.
Tianyue💙
Hello, Class of 2022! I’m Tianyue Xu and I also go by Mia. I’m from Beijing, China, a big city that is quite different from Oxford. I found a little bit inconvenient when I first got here, but I still pretty like Oxford since everyone is extremely friendly!! I am on film and business tracks but still not for sure yet. I am interested in a lot of areas and have taken variable courses at Oxford, like CS, psych, religion, political science, and film. During my first year at Oxford, I attended ISAB (International Student Advisory Board), Oxford Memory (making Oxford yearbook), and CSA (Chinese Student Association). I was also very lucky to be able to work with Daphne and Christine as an ISP student assistant. All of these helped me make high-quality friends and have fun during tough studying time. I like to shoot and edit videos, take photos of my friends, and travel!! Hope we can do these things together in 2018 fall semester! Again, welcome to Oxford, and I promise you will know me better when you get here.
Xinyan💛
Hello dear new freshmen, welcome to Oxford! My name is Xinyan Cheng (程昕妍), and you can just call me Cindy! I am from Shanghai, China. I’m currently on the pre-law track with major in Public Policy Analysis and Sociology. If you have any interest about these fields, please feel free to reach out to me! I also enjoy cooking Chinese dishes and practicing Chinese calligraphy and catwalk in my spare time. After I came to Oxford, I started falling in love with volunteering, workout, and Spanish. And I assure you all will find so much fun to do by the end of your freshman year! Just don’t feel stressful, and iMentors are always by your side. Can’t wait to see you all and share with you my life at Oxford!
Charlotte💙
Hello everyone, my name is Charlotte (Hui) Wang, and I am from St.Louis, Missouri. I was born and raised in Shanghai China, and I really miss Xiao long bao zi right now as we speak! I love singing and watching movies (spent more time watching tv than anything else). I intend on pursuing a Biology major as well as a Computer Science major. 8/10 you will run into me in the Science building, so you know where to find me if you have questions or just want to talk! I cannot wait to get to know you all and have you all join our Oxford family!
Yuanzhe💛
Hello everyone! I am Yuanzhe Wang from Shanghai, China, and you can call me Terrence! My hobbies are sleeping and eating LOL. Chinese and Japanese cuisines are my favorites! Congratulations again to you all! I am really looking forward to seeing you in August! Welcome to Oxford!!!
