新的一年開始了，大家都很激動，恩，對喲，又長大了！
新的一年開始了，那「開始」在英語中一般什麼用呢？
大家都說不就是start、begin嗎，
The new year starts？

The beginning of the new year？

都可以，
那我們來說說常用的start和begin在表達開始的時候有什麼區別,
一、begin比start更正式些，如：
The test began in March.
測試從三月份開始
What time does the film start?
電影什麼時候開始？
二、機器的啟動或開動，用start，不能用begin，如：
The car won't start.(It doesn't work)
不能說 The car won't begin.
汽車不能開動了（開了也沒反應）
三，（導致從無到有的出現）開始，用start，不能用begin，如：
I started a fire to warm the place up.
不能說，began a fire
在這地方我開始生火（跟開動火這臺機器一樣）取暖,
也可以這樣理解，
start常用於非正式文體，其動作性較強，以行動來開始某一具體動作時多用start。如：
He started to run．
他開始跑。
begin動作性較弱，常用於描寫一種狀態的開始，特別是較緩慢的開始。如：
He began to understand．
他開始慢慢明白了。
四，創立（新生意）用start，不能用begin，如：
She wanted to start a new restaurant.
她想開一家新餐廳。
還有一個區別就是：
start 是在任何時候開始都行的開始，比如：
說賽車比賽中，兩輛車突然停了，然後又決定再往前開，可以這樣:
Start driving from here!
從這兒開始開吧！
begin 一般用在大事兒上面， 如：
Let us begin our show!
讓我們(從頭)開始節目吧！
可以看出，他們的一個區別就是：
begin有從頭開始的意思，
而start是從哪兒開始（不一定是起點，中途也行）都行。用這句話就能看出他們的區別：
