[00:00.04]Vietnamese schoolgirl Nguyen Doi Chung Anh
[00:05.04]was forced to stay in her Hanoi home for months
[00:09.92]because of COVID-19 restrictions.
[00:14.40]The ten-year-old spent much of her time inside creating artwork.
[00:21.28]Her pictures explore both the sadness
[00:25.04]and the heroism of the world's battle with the pandemic.
[00:31.80]Chung Anh uses colored pencils to make her drawings.
[00:36.12]One picture shows the spread of coronavirus in Europe and America.
[00:42.20]It includes representations of famous national landmarks
[00:47.76]like the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
[00:54.24]In the picture, the Statue of Liberty is crying.
[01:00.08]Chung Ahn also draws pictures that representing
[01:04.12]Vietnam's efforts to contain the virus.
[01:07.96]One shows two Vietnamese soldiers holding a passenger plane
[01:13.24]that has been struck by the virus.
[01:16.00]Another shows war planes from which medical workers
[01:20.64]spray the passenger plane with disinfectant.
[01:25.60]Those pictures represent the flight VN54,
[01:30.20]which brought new infection to the country
[01:33.40]after Vietnam reported it was virus-free.
[01:38.40]"I drew this with hope that they can keep their spirits high
[01:42.76]to prevent an outbreak," Chung Anh said,
[01:46.20]speaking of the frontline workers, adding "This girl is me,
[01:51.44]here I am drawing and these things are my imagination."
[01:57.96]Several pictures show the cruise ship Diamond Princess.
[02:03.04]More than 700 passengers and crew on the ship
[02:07.32]became infected with the new coronavirus.
[02:11.76]The ship was held under quarantine at a Japanese port
[02:16.04]for more than three months.
[02:18.40]Fourteen people died, all of them passengers.
