在英國很多人稱吸塵器為hoover，是一個吸塵器品牌的名稱。也可當動詞用，像是hoover the carpet（吸地毯）。

freshen up也可以用在人身上，有梳洗或是精神換發的意思。

rinse跟wash差在哪呢？rinse是指用清水衝洗，像是洗碗時已經抹了洗碗精，然後要用水衝乾淨的時候就可以用rinse，至於wash則可以是整個清洗的過程。
