prefer是初中英語經常考察的一個詞。它應用廣泛，熟詞搭配很多，語義非常容易混淆。需要大家要努力去記憶背誦,加以區分，這樣才能在各種完形閱讀中不至於出現錯誤，現從語法語義去區分。
1.Drefer v.更喜歡(名詞動名詞）
which do you prefe你更喜那個？
He comes from Shanghai, so he prefers rice. 他是上海人，因此更喜歡吃米飯。
I prefer going by bike.我寧願騎單車去。
I prefer the white one.我喜歡那個白的。
2.preer to do sth寧願做...;更喜歡.....
She prefers to live among the childen她更喜歡和孩子們在一起
I prefer to go at once.我願意馬上就走。
3、prefer sb. to do 「願意某人做」
I prefer you to go at once.我倒希望你馬上就走。
4、prefer doing sth寧願做...;更喜歡....
I prefer living abroad我更喜住國外
I prefer going by bike.我寧願騎單車去。
5 、prefer sth to sth.喜歡..而不喜歡
She prefers apples to bananas
I prefer tea to milk.我寧願喝茶也不喝牛奶。

10、prefer+ that從句「寧願」(從句一般用虛擬語氣)

注意：
prefer的用法 -------
1、後接不定式時與rather than 或instead of連用，
do A instead of doing B
prefer to do A rather than do B
如：
He preferred to die rather than (to) steal. / He perferred to die instead of stealing. 他寧死也不去偷竊。
2、注意介詞搭配，
如：
I prefer swimming to skating. (I like swimming better than skating.)我喜歡遊泳勝過滑冰。
prefer 因其本身含有比較之意，而不可再與more 或most連用。
3、prefer+名詞或動名詞「寧願」，「更喜歡」。
