9月16日上午大課間，在楓葉校園的操場上，中小學生們整齊列隊，文明有禮，秩序井然，翹首以盼即將開啟的「周三英語日」活動！
On the morning of September 16th, Primary and Junior High school students lined up neatly, and orderly on the playground, looking forward to the upcoming "English Wednesday" event!
主持人Amara老師和Jhoanna老師宣布周三英語日主題活動正式開幕，並帶領全體楓葉學子們喊出口號—— English Wednesday, English Everyday.
Hosts Ms Amara and Ms Jhoanna announced the opening of English Wednesday Event and led all the Maple Leaf students to shout the slogan: English Wednesday, English Everyday.
周三英語日是楓葉國際學校的傳統英語活動。在隔周的周三，我們會利用大課間的時間開展豐富多彩的英語日活動，有特色鮮明的節日主題活動，還有培養學生提高安全意識的德育主題活動等等。希望通過英語日活動讓學生愛英語、講英語，從而愛上英語。
English Wednesday is a traditional Maple Leaf English activity. Every two weeks, we will spend the recess time carrying out a variety of activities on Wednesday, through which students will use English more, and gradually fall in love with English.
藉此機會，英語中心的老師們也向孩子們預告了本學期他們即將參與到的英語活動，小低段有提高書寫規範的英文書寫大賽，有夯實拼讀能力，提高單詞認讀能力的英語拼讀大賽，還有提升公共演講能力的英語演講比賽；而小高段的同學們將參加到展現英語與創意融合的海報設計大賽，非常考驗腦容量的英文單詞勇士大賽以及展示超強思辨能力的英語演講比賽。聽到活動介紹的孩子們心潮澎湃，躍躍欲試！
ESL teachers also introduced the English activities they will organize this semester. There is English handwriting competition, spelling competition and speech competition for Primary lower grades. Students of Primary higher grades will participate in the poster design contest which shows the integration of English and creativity, English word warrior contest which tests their vocabulary, and English speech contest that shows their English thinking ability. All the students were excited and eager to try!
參與活動不僅可以提升英語能力，還可以獲得楓葉定製的獎券。同學們可以解鎖通關，集齊7張獎券可兌換一個手環，7個手環兌換一個胸牌，5個胸牌即可解鎖一個神秘驚喜。
Students can not only improve their English ability, but also get Maple Leaf lottery tickets. They can upgrade by exchanging 7 tickets for a bracelet, 7 bracelets for a badge, and 5 badges to win a mysterious prize.
最後，陳校長和李校長為周三英語日活動致辭，兩位校長期望所有的楓葉學子在英語活動中綻放光彩。
At last, Principal Chen and Principal Li delivered speeches for English Wednesday activity. Two principals hoped that all Maple Leaf students would participate and show themselves in the future!
接下來就是本次英語日的主題活動啦----尋寶通關。英語中心的中外教師們在本周二提前在校園操場、教學樓走廊、教室等地方悄悄埋下寶藏，學生們在周三一天利用課間和快樂三十分等休息時間去尋找各種顏色的「寶藏」紙條。
小楓葉們找到寶藏後，迫不及待地找到老師去「通關」贏獎品。
Next is the theme activity of this English Wednesday ---- Treasure Hunt. All the ESL teachers hided the treasures on the playgrounds, teaching building corridors, classrooms and other places in advance. Students use the break time to find the treasures--colorful notes with questions.
而初中的楓葉學子們則在操場上進行「通關」。通關在主持人Sherry老師和Thato老師的帶領下正式開啟！老師們兵分三路，分別攜帶著不同顏色的手牌在操場上等待孩子們前來解鎖。有的要完成繞口令挑戰，有的要大開腦洞猜謎語，還有的要做中國傳統文化的問答。他們一個個踴躍發言，自信大方！
Junior High school students met the challenge on the playground. Hosts Ms Sherry and Ms Thato announced the start! Teachers were divided into three groups, carrying cards of different colors on the playground and waiting for the children to challenge themselves. Some have to complete tongue twisters, some have to solve riddles, and some have to do quizzes about traditional Chinese culture. They spoke enthusiastically one by one!
「校園尋寶」使得同學們興致勃勃地主動參與到了活動中去，閱讀英語問題，思考或探討答案，令同學們的英語學習熱情高漲。豐富的英語活動更是讓孩子們期待滿滿，讓我們一起期待下一次的英語日主題活動吧！
"Treasure Hunt" made the students active and raised their English learning enthusiasm. The abundant English activities made the children look forward to the next one! Let us expect next English Day theme activity together!
