中國大學擠入世界大學排名前20，看看外刊如何評論！

在周三最新發布的《泰晤士高等教育世界大學排名》中，中國大學的排名獲得歷史性提升。清華大學成為2011年後第一個進入排名前20的亞洲大學。

For the first time, a Chinese university has cracked the top 20 in the prestigious World University Rankings from Times Higher Education.

The British publication released its annual rankings Wednesday, with Oxford University retaining the top spot from last year and Tsinghua University in Beijing rising to come in at joint 20th.

中國一所大學首次躋身泰晤士報高等教育世界著名大學排行榜前20名。

這家英國出版物周三公布了年度排名，牛津大學保持了去年的榜首位置，北京的清華大學上升到第20位。

Peking University, China’s other elite school, was ranked 23rd, while five more institutions on the Chinese mainland — Fudan University in Shanghai; the University of Science and Technology of China in Hefei; Zhejiang University in Hangzhou; and Shanghai Jiao Tong University — cracked the top 100.

All except the University of Science and Technology of China improved from their rankings the previous year.

北京大學，中國的另一所精英學校，排名第23位，而中國大陸又有5所大學躋身前100名，分別是上海的復旦大學、合肥的中國科技大學、杭州的浙江大學和上海交通大學。

Amid growing diplomatic tensions — China has been at odds with Australia, Canada, the U.S., and the U.K. on and off for the past couple of years — and the coronavirus pandemic, which have made going abroad for school less appealing if not impossible, Chinese authorities have been looking inward to improve the country’s standard of education, investing heavily in institutions of higher learning in accordance with the country’s 13th Five-Year Plan for Education.

In June, another respected university ranking index by British research firm Quacquarelli Symonds included the same six universities from the Chinese mainland among its top 100, with all but one improving from the previous year.
