託福Junior的整個的出題思路和託福考試有諸多的不同之處,同時其內在又有著很大的關聯。其中從整體的版塊來講,託福Junior添加了語言的形式和含義這一版塊,目的側重於考察學生的語法和詞彙。針對題目的分析,試題此版塊的考察重點:語法主要集中考察非謂語,從句,句式,時態;詞彙則是集中考察動詞,代詞,副詞,詞組的辨析和用法。難度和高中語法的難度相當,注重細、全。
(一),非謂語
對於非謂語的考察主要集中在ing形式的考察,次之是不定式的考察,而對於過去分詞的考察則相對較少。

作定語
做定語的時候表示動作正在進行,也表示某種性質或者用途
The meeting being held is very important..
The sleeping baby is my son.
Is there a swimming pool in your school?
He can't walk without a walking-stick.
做賓語
有些動詞及詞組後面只能加ing形式做賓語比如
admit, avoid, consider, deny, delay, enjoy, finish, imagine, mind, practice risk suggest appreciate complete deny mention mind miss prevent delay escape imagine postpone put off, give up, look forward to, be worth doing can’t help doing go on doing insist on doing prefer doing to doing be busy doing keep on doing devote.. to dong insist on doing spend… in doing have difficulty in doing have a good time doing prevent …from doing
有些動詞後面既可以加ing形式也可以加to do 而且意思沒有太大的變化
Begin start continue love like prefer hate
但是在would like would love would prefer 後面只能加to do
有些動詞後面既可以加to do 也可以加ing 但是意思有較大的差別
比如

regret to do: 遺憾地去做/說 | regret doing: 後悔做了某事 |
mean to do 打算做什麼 | mean doing 意味著做 |
Stop to do停下來去做 | stop doing 停止/不去做 |
try to do: 試圖/努力/企圖去做 | try doing: 嘗試用一種方法做 |
go on to do 接著去做另一件事 | go on doing: 繼續把事情做下去 |
例句:
1. Don’t forget to mail this letter tomorrow morning.
2. I don’t remember having said anything of the sort.
3. I regret to say that you have failed in the exam.
4. He tried to walk without a crutch.
5. He went on to tell us about the accident.
need, want, require,用 -ing的主動形式相當於不定式的被動形式。(need doing = need to be done)
比如:
My hair need cutting.=My hair need to be cut.
