以2019年的考研試題為例，我們看一下2019年的考研試題是什麼樣子的，以及它是如何考察的。

Write an essay based on the following chart. In your writing, you should
1) interpret the chart, and
2) give your comments.
You should write about 150 words on the ANSWER SHEET. (15 points)
從2019年的考研試題中，我們可以看出英二大作文考的是圖表作文。自從有英二以來，一共考過了四種圖表：柱狀圖(bar chart)、餅圖(pie chart)、折線圖(line chart)和表格(table)。上圖的柱狀圖也可以轉化為表格，所以數字的呈現形式是何種表格並不重要。我們要看到表格的本質。如果按這四種來學習，太過複雜，難以記憶。我們可以將所有圖表分成兩類：動態圖和靜態圖。我們將有時間變化的成為動態圖，它顯示的是不同時間段不同對象的變化。將沒有時間變化的成為靜態圖，它反應的是同一時間段不同對象之間的差異。
大作文評分的四個重要標準是：語言準確、內容完整、組織銜接和語言多樣。英語水平的高低在作文上可以清晰的體現出來，考察的是大家英語的表達能力。所以我們重點應該放在語言多樣上。也就是在用詞和句式的豐富上。以下就動態圖和靜態圖展開來講，給大家提供兩個可供參考的模板。一般是採取經典的三段論。三段分別為圖畫描述段、分析論證段和總結段。第一段有所不同，後兩段通用。
動態圖：
第一段：圖表標題、整體變化、最大變化和過渡句

Especially, 某指數 shows the most obvious inclination that 具體. Obviously, the inclinations, clearly reflected by the chart, should be given more consideration.
第二段：分析可從原因或者影響分析
Theoretically, the trend that 最大變化/差異 brings us many influences, but for my part, the following two are of utmost importance. On the top of list is that +原因/影響一. In addition, there is the other point that no one can ignore. It is universally admitted that +原因/影響二.
第三段：總結
Taking into account what has been discussed above, we may safely come to the conclusion that the current situation will continue in the forthcoming years. So it is advisable to maximize its positive effects and minimize the negative ones.
