Just a glimpse at my class schedule this semester , I realized there is a trouble waiting at my door "knock knock" to me . I know you are wondering what kind of class would have throwed such a bomb to you ?
Well, the problem was not created by what classes to take ,but when?
As a person who was born to get up late(which was inherited from my mother), I get a class schedule with no class in the morning this whole semester ! This is the problem !
Okay, I know you are wondering again :A night person with no class in the morning? Is there anything better than that?
No ! It's not good ,okay ? It's far from good, it’s the worst .
Do you know how frustrated you might feel when you get up at 12am , on your way to wash your face and say hi to your roommates just finding out they got up at 6 and exercised at 7 and studied from 8 to 11:30 ? It’s like you offer an opportunity for people around you to remind you that a piece of trash . This is the opportunity that I would never authorize them and I would not let that happen, again.(clearly this is the scene I was quite familiar with.)
So I started my trials. I tried to go to bed early, but unfortunately our classes are over at 920 and me and my roommates have too much to talk about at nights ; I tried to get up early to exercise, but unfortunately the temperature before 7 in Lanzhou was too cold to do workouts; I also tried to study in the library in the morning, but sadly there are always people who arrived early than me and barely can I find a seat there.
Luckily, I got a part time job at the teacher’s office which requires me to arrived at the office before 8:15, I got up at 7:10 in the morning every weekdays.Tada ~my problem is finally solved.
There is a tag 「立flag」which is quite popular among the young. This definition are constructed by two parts. The first part is also its original definition, that : set up a flag, which means to set a goal. The second part is funny cause it’s where the soul lies ,which is the flag would always blowed down but the wind of reality. For example ,i set a flag of losing weight, but I know I will give up cause it’s too hard. But its okay .I knew what would happen and I still set it because I want to release the pressure of being fat at that specific moment.
It seems like people are getting used to setting goals and failing them, without any guilt.but this kind of attitude wouldn’t make a happy ending .it’s dangerous to getting used to failing goals ,cause confidence is not build on it ,our patience is not shaped from it, and our future success is not realized through it.
Let’s learn to set a goal and fulfill it.
First of the first , always take an positive attitude and wanting to get better. Take myself as an example , I know my weakness is bad at getting up early, and I have the will to change it 「wanting to be better」is the deep engine that I set the flag of getting up early in the morning.
Second, find a solid way to solve the problem. I know nature is hard to conquer, anyway we are not developed enough to change our DNA and reborn again.but a suitable way would help to improve ourself. To get paid I have to be in office on time, sacrificing my bedtime sounds quite fair to me.
Third ,a little perseverance is required. It’s said a new habit will be shaped after 21days. You can’t imagine everything is changed overnight. Even a tiny difference is made day by day, footprint by footprint. Perseverance is a helpful tool to build ourselves.
Let’s not keep setting up flags and keep failing but set up a flag and keep it still.
