①當deny表示"否認"時，後面可以接賓語也可以接that引導的賓語從句.例如：
She denied that he had lost her bag.
她否認包已經丟了。
She denied the evidence .
她否認了這些證據。
She denied her carelessness.
她否認自己粗心。
有時，當表示"否認已經做了某件事"是，可以用deny+ v-ing 來表達，即deny doing sth.
例如：
She denied losing her handbag.
她否認自己的手提包丟了。
She denied losing that much money when
gambing.
她否認在賭博是輸了那麼多的錢。
因為表示的事否定及不承認已經做過和發生的事，所以有時也可以用deny having done 的形式來表示上面的兩個句子：
eg. She denied having losing her handbag.

② 當deny 表示"拒絕給予，拒絕接受"時，後面可以直接跟具體的某一事物.
例如：
Those who do not study hard enough will be denied the access to a brighter future.

She was denied the opportunity to the new
courses because she failed to pass the final
test.
I denied his offer . 我拒絕了他的提議。
They denied us enough food when we told
them that we were hungry.
當告知他們我們餓了，他們拒絕給我們足夠的食物。
He denied my offer even though I insist on
doing him a favor.
