The airports across Hunan handled over 33.6 million passenger trips, 258,000 flights, and 178,000 tons of cargo in 2019, which respectively register an increase of 11.3%, 9.8%, and 13% over last year. The number of international passenger trips hit 3 million, up 17%.
Fifty new air routes were operated, linking to 115 domestic and 51 international airports.
Changsha Huanghua International Airport has 35 new air routes, including 8 international and 27 domestic ones. The number of airports linked with Changsha increased from 143 in 2018 to 155 today. The new routes include: an intercontinental route to Nairobi (Kenya); Asian routes to Mandalay (Myanmar), Bandar Seri Begawan (Brunei), Van Don (Vietnam), Nagoya (Japan), Kathmandu (Nepal), and Macao (China); domestic routes to Korla, Datong, Qianjiang, Shangri-La, and Ganzhou.
Changsha has broadened its 4-hour economic circle through aviation, based on the three-year airline route development plan, discount measures, innovative aviation-tourism integration, and new air route promotions. Now the circle covers 34 cities in 16 countries and regions, and 2.56 million passenger trips within the circle were handled, increasing by 12.9%.
The international cargo throughput saw a rapid growth. Facing a sluggish domestic and global economy, Changsha airport opened new all-cargo flights to Bangkok and New York, and increased its 6 all-cargo routes to six. The international cargo throughput hit 51,000 tons in 2019, up 73% over last year.
Regional airports grow in an all-around way. In 2019, Hunan’s regional airports handled more than 3.8 million passenger trips and 37,654 flights, registering an increase of 38% and 30% respectively.
Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport handled 2.87 million passenger trips and 25,400 flights, up 29.9% and 24.3%. The international passenger trips were 330,000, making an increase of 99.3%. Seven new air routes were operated, linking Zhangjiajie to Siem Reap (Cambodia), Osaka (Japan), Manila (the Philippines), and Seoul and Chungju (South Korea).
Changde Airport opened its first direct flight to Bangkok, and thus became Hunan’s third international airport.
In 2019, both Changde and Hengyang airports saw a passenger throughput of more than one million.

2019年，長沙機場保障運輸起降19.5萬架次，貨郵吞吐量17.6萬噸，同比分別增長6.5%、5.1%、13%，其中，國際及地區旅客吞吐量273.7萬人次，同比增長10.8%，單日旅客吞吐量突破8萬的天數為69天，較去年同期增多56天，更是有2天突破9萬人次。
全年新增航線35條，通航機場增至155個
2019年以來，長沙機場不斷完善航線網絡布局，新增澳門、奈洛比、名古屋、雲屯、曼德勒、加德滿都和斯裡巴加灣市國際及地區航點。緊緊圍繞四小時航空經濟圈三年航線發展計劃，增強航線網絡覆蓋面及通達性。全年，新增航線35條，其中國際（地區）航線8條，國內航線27條，通航機場由2018年的143個增至155個。
此外，長沙機場全面優化中轉流程、完善配套建設、首次推出「四免」產品，打造「經長飛」服務品牌，機場中轉旅客年吞吐量突破112萬人次，遠超年初預期，中轉旅客佔比提升至4.17%，中轉銜接成功率達94.38%，同比提升了2.7個百分點，機場中轉轉型升級取得初步成效，樞紐實力顯著增強。
航班放行正常率近9成，共收到表揚信息7507份
旅客在長沙機場乘機，在感受到航線之多、服務便捷的同時，另一個明顯的感受就是，航班越來越準點。
據統計，截至12月31日，長沙機場航班機場航班放行正常率為86.91%，在全國21個主時刻協調機場中排名10位，高出行業平均值1.25個百分點；始發航班放行正常率86.08%，在21個主時刻協調機場中排名11位，高出行業平均值2.33個百分點。這些數據的背後，正是長沙機場踐行「打造旅客最滿意機場」發展理念帶來的改變。
為了讓旅客走的舒心、順心、安心，長沙機場將以人民為中心的發展思想落實到服務各環節，聚焦旅客視角打造精品服務。按照民航局「九項便民措施」要求，長沙機場率先在全國推出長沙--雪梨全國首條洲際航線、長沙至香港地區航線無紙化乘機服務；率先在中部推出「裸眼3D展示櫃」助力乘機安檢，同時推出「人性化」安檢通道；為特殊旅客打造愛心服務專區；引進手語在線翻譯軟體；安裝全自動體外心臟除顫儀（AED）；更新T1手推車，減輕旅客在各個環節上的行李搬運壓力；打造「最乾淨」衛生間，安裝智能側位引導系統、衛生間評價系統等項目，多方面提升旅客體驗感、滿足不同群體個性化需求。
2019年，長沙機場共收到的表揚信息7507份，同比增加2.19倍；在ACI全球滿意度測評中，機場環境及航站區清潔度評分在長沙機場33個指標項中排前5名；機場96777客服中心榮獲「2019年度十佳呼叫中心卓越全渠道客服獎」；「分艙優先登機服務」由服務質量評價專家組推薦進入中國民用機場服務質量優秀案例庫，這些成績的取得，與機場從旅客視角審視問題、提升服務質量密切相關。
