雅思口語:a trip by public transport

　　雅思口語考試裡乍一聽到a trip by public transport，很多人就想，除了自駕遊和徒步暴走，貌似每次的旅行都是乘坐public transport吧!那簡直太簡單了，隨便挑一次package tour或者coach tour就行了!

　　It was last summer vacation. I went to Japan with my parents. We booked a package tour, and the travel agency took us on a bus around Japan for a week.

　　It was a memorable experience, at first, I thought this kind of tour would be boring, you know, compared with DIY trips where you can explore anything you want without any limitations.

　　However, this trip turned out to be wonderful. I met plenty of interesting people in our travel group, although we spent a lot of time travelling on the bus, we actually had a good time. We used the microphone and stereo on the bus to sing karaoke, and we played poker, and sometimes, we just looked out of the window and admire the views.

　　Having a tour like this and travelling on this kind of transport has a lot of benefits, I think. We don’t need to worry about our plans, 『cause everything is arranged for you, unlike self-drive holidays. I mean, when we drive our own cars or the cars we rent to have a road trip, we need to follow the GPS, be careful all the time and fill up the gas tank ourselves. However, having a trip like this one, we just need to relax and have fun on the bus, which means we can fully enjoy the journey.

　　雅思口語語言點解析：

　　package tour = a holiday / vacation that is organized by a company at a fixed price and that includes the cost of travel, hotels, etc.

　　coach tour = a trip in a comfortable bus that carries passengers over long distances

　　travel agency = a company that arranges travel and / or accommodation for people going on a holiday / vacation or journey

　　admire = to look at something and think that it is attractive and / or impressive例如：

　　He stood back to admire his handiwork.

　　I've just been admiring your new car.

　　Let's just sit and admire the view.

　　stereo = a machine that plays CDs, etc, sometimes with a radio, that has two separate speakers so that you hear different sounds from each例如：

　　a car/ personal stereo

　　Let's put some music on the stereo.

　　self-drive holiday = a holiday on which you use your own car or a car you hire to travel to the holiday area

　　road trip = a trip made in a car over a long distance

　　fill something up (with something) = to become completely full; to make something completely full例如：

　　The ditches had filled up with mud.

　　to fill up the tank with oil
