在這樣一個新冠肺炎疫情大流行的時代，我們不得不停下腳步，不得不相見屏幕兩端，但我想我們的心在靠近，都在向著這所名叫——西北工業大學的學校靠近。我們熱切的希望你們能夠早日來到校園，早日浸潤在工大的書香氛圍之中，早日結識更多工大同齡人。
In such an era of the pandemic, we have to stop our pace and meet at both ends of the screen. However, I think our hearts are getting closer, and we are all approaching this university — Northwestern Polytechnical University(NPU). We earnestly hope that you can come to the campus as soon as possible, soak in the scholarly atmosphere of NPU, and get to know more NPU peers with the least delay.
在這個艱難的時代，科學家在努力的研發疫苗，醫生在努力的治癒每個病人，他們正在努力的與病毒賽跑，努力早日打敗病毒，早日終結疫情。正是每一個追求進步的人在共同推進人類的進步。所以我希望大家也不要停下追求進步的腳步，努力克服時差和網絡的困難，堅持按時上課，堅持認真學習，堅持開展論文研究。
During this difficult era, scientists are working hard to develop vaccines, and doctors are making great efforts to cure every patient. They are doing their best to race against the virus, strive to defeat the virus, and end the epidemic without delay. It is everyone who pursues progress that is working together to advance human progress. Therefore, I hope everyone will not stop pursuing progress, work hard to overcome the difficulties of jet lag and the network problem, insist on attending classes on time, and persist in conducting researches.
九月伊始，你們的中國同齡人已經回到校園，並在今天開始了課堂學習，相信大家和他們一樣期待早日歸來，重返課堂。但是相信我們，相信每一位工大老師也在牽掛大家，希望大家早日歸來。老師們已經準備好和大家再次雲端相見和遠在世界各國的你們共同學習。希望大家能夠更加認真的開展在線學習，做好每一課的筆記，能夠和平時上課一樣，去努力掌握每一個知識點，進而形成自己的知識體系。但我們也注意到極個別高年級學生，仍然因為一些情況，未能按時註冊，無法進行上課和論文研究。希望大家在這個艱難的時代，不要輕易放棄學業，不要等疫情結束時自己卻無法迎接更好的未來。
At the beginning of September, 2020, Chinese peers have already returned to schooland and started their studying in the classroom. I believe everyone is looking forward to returning to school and classroom as early as possible. Believe us, every teacher of NPU is also concerned about every student and hopes everyone will return soon. Teachers are ready to meet you again online and learn together with you from all over the world. I hope everyone can carry out distance learning more seriously, take notes, and be able to master knowledge points asusual, then form your own knowledge system. Besides, we have also noticed that a very small number of students still failed to register on time due to some circumstances and are unable to conduct class and research. We hope you will not give up your studies easily in this difficult time.
對於各位大一和研一的新生，我們知道對於你們困難可能會更多，但我們也注意到今年的註冊報到率超過了90%，也清楚的表明了大家對知識的渴望和對工大的喜愛。剛剛開學，也許選課有一些問題，也許大家還不熟悉網絡授課軟體，不熟悉老師們的授課方法，但是請大家相信我們，你們的問題就是我們工作的方向，我們將會仔細核對每一位同學的課程表，和每一個授課老師溝通你們的困難，對每一個授課軟體的功能進行說明輔導，我們將會努力不辜負大家對工大的愛。
For all freshmen, we know that there may be more difficulties for you, but we alsonoticed that this year's registration rate exceeded 90%, which clearly shows everyone's desire for knowledge, love for the NPU. The new semester has just started, maybe there are some problems with the course selection, you are not familiar with the online teaching software, or you can't adapt to the teachers』 teaching methods, but please trust us, to solve your problems is the direction of our work, and we will check every student schedule carefully. 同學們，路雖遠,行則必至,事雖難,做則必成。人類社會從來沒有屈服於病毒的肆虐，人類也正是在這些磨礪之中不斷進步。希望大家認真學習，不管線上還是線下，不管是天涯還是海角，學習永遠是每個人的本職工作，請大家和我們一起攜手，去迎來大家在工大相見的日子，去迎接大家在工大的茁壯成長，去迎接大家的美好明天。
Dear students, although the way is far away, as long as we go, we'll arrive; although the things are difficult, as long as we do, we'll achieve.
