01Historical:
adj.
1. historical events, facts, people, etc. happened or existed in the past 歷史上的
e.g. Was King Arthur a real historical figure?
亞瑟王是真實的歷史人物嗎？
2. describing or based on events in the past描寫歷史事件的；基於史實的
e.g. a historical novel

02Historic:
1. a historic event or act is very important and will be recorded as part of history 歷史上重要的，將載入史冊的
e.g. a historic meeting of world leaders
具有歷史意義的世界領導人會議
2. historic times are the periods of time whose history has been recorded 有歷史記載的，有史以來的
e.g. Extinct volcanoes are those that have not erupted in historic times.
死火山指有史以來沒有噴發過的火山
作為一對都與歷史相關的兄弟，我們應該怎樣區分它們呢？最為清晰的一種方法就是把它們放在同一句話中進行區分：Not all historical events are historic.不是所有的歷史事件都有歷史意義。這樣一來兩個單詞的側重點就被很好地區分開來，便於我們記憶。適用同樣方法的還有我們初中時就接觸過的I’m alone, but I’m not lonely. 我孤身一人，但我並不孤單。
03Approach:

1. a method of doing something or dealing with a problem 方法，方式

2. movement towards or near to something 靠近；接近
e.g. Our approach frightened the birds.
我們的靠近嚇了那些鳥。
a road, path, etc. that leads to a place, and is the main way of reaching it （主要）通路
e.g. Soldiers were guarding the approaches to the city.
士兵把守著進城的道路。
3. the final part of a plane’s flight, before it lands at an airport 進場（著陸）
e.g. It was clear to land so we madeour approach.
跑道已清空，於是我們進場著陸。
否定轉移：
1．not+think，believe，suppose，imagine…+that－clause（that 從句）
e.g.：I'm sorry，but I don't think I know you．對不起，我想我並不認識你。
2．not…because（of）
e.g. He was not ready to believe something just because Aristotle said so．他並不只是因為亞里斯多德說過某事如何如何，就輕易相信它。
3．not…+動詞不定式或介詞短語
e.g. Jack does not seem to like you．（= Jack seems not to like you．）傑克看來不喜歡你。
4.never know......
e.g. You never know how indebted I am for your kindest care and your warmest support.
我非常感激你對我無微不至的關心和最溫暖的支持。
