今天文章介紹的是Idiomatic vocabulary,指的是一些口語中的慣用語,用在口語考試中使用會使自己的答案更為自然,而且和那些『uncommon words』不同,這些慣用語表達一般比較簡單易記,而且在口語P1中非常實用。
下面就列舉一些常用短語給同學們參考~
hang out =spend time with sb
• 不是這個短語中含有out,就一定要出去,我們來看看它的英文釋義- If you hang out in a particular place or area, you go and stay there for no particular reason, or spend a lot of time there.• 可以連接的時間事件和人- holiday/weekend/leisure/shopping/visitorsEg. 1. • 好久不見、久別重逢---party/school/hometown/plan/holiday ...
Eg. 1. I plan to arrange a get-together with my high school classmates. We're gonna do a lot of catching up. (school)
2. On my last birthday, I invited a lot of friends over to my apartment, including some that I hadn't seen in a while. We caught up with each other and had a lot of fun. (party/meal/birthday)

Eg. 1. My favorite website is Renren.com. It's a social networking site and I use it to keep in touch with friends. (website)
2. Now that we have smartphones and the internet, it's much easier to keep in touch with friends and relatives.(smartphone/internet)
• study/work/leisure/weekend/hobby/internet/computer/television ...Eg.1. Many teenagers nowadays are extremely sedentary and never work out. They watch TV and play computer games all the time. Eg. 1. Many people nowadays always feel pretty stressed at work, so they need holidays to relax. (holiday)

• computer/internet/smartphone/app/social mediaEg. 1. Although we have easy access to a limitless amount of information on the internet, it also poses some threats to us such as online fraud, identity theft and so forth. (internet/ social media)2. This app gives me access to various study materials. (app)off the top of my head 不假思索、脫口而出
Eg. 1. Are ads important? Well, off the top of my head, I wanna say no cause not a lot of people depend on ads for information anymore. (advertising)2. Off the top of my head, I'd say traveling is a good opportunity to forget about work and relax. (traveling)...that comes/springs to (my) mind is ... 不假思索、脫口而出
Eg. 1. Well, one/the first color that comes to mind is red. It stands for happiness and you see it everywhere in China. (colors)
2. Um, the definition of a good friendship? Well, the word that springs to mind is honesty. You know, we wouldn't be able to trust each other without it. (friends)

Eg. 1. Um, honestly, cooking is not my thing. I wish there were a machine that could do it for me. (cooking)
2. Museums are not my cup of tea. When I wanna learn something, I just read a book about it. (museum)
