這是出現於2011年9月17號的一道卡片題，部分考生對此表示壓力很大。
Two People from the same family
Describe two people who you know from the same family.
You should say:
Who these two people are
How much these two people have similar personalities (characters)
How much they look similar
And explain how (how well) the two people get along with each other.
Possible follow-up question:
Are you still in contact with these people?
2011年9月份，據烤鴨回憶出現了上面這道題目，人物類的話題卡我們見過不少，通常都是讓考生描述某一個人，比如an adventurous person，a neighbour,或者是a child you know等等，所以相對而言，這個話題卡確實存在一定的難度，一個是因為考生極少被要求同時描述兩個人，更不要說還得從個性，外貌以及相處這幾個方面去做比較，但是這道題絕非疑難雜症。
首先要注意的是，這並不是一道全新題。在2006年9月16號，也就是差不多正好5年前就有考過這道題，所以不過是老題回歸。
再來，人物類的話題卡我們準備過很多，一般都是從個性、外貌等方面去描述一個人，我們之前積累的描寫人物的詞彙和句型在這道題目中還是大有用武之地的。此外，我們還可以借鑑a family member，或者an old friend這樣的話題做結合。
如何來準備這個卡片題呢？
先審題：
(一) 看Describe後面是什麼， Two people，兩個人。
(二) 審限定詞，這裡是個定語從句，重要的信息有：這兩個人來自同一個家庭；你認識他們。
(三) 審時態，很明顯是一般現在時。
再選材：
一般說來，同一家庭的兩個人可以是父子或者母女，也可以是兄弟姐妹，還可以是夫妻倆,甚至可以是爺孫兩個。筆者認為，如果是夫妻或者爺孫這樣的兩個人要描述起來會比較麻煩，因為他們往往外貌和個性迥異，要說的內容太多，考生很容易說得雜亂無章。而父子或者兄弟姐妹往往在外貌上相似，而性格或者相似或者相差甚遠，為了降低難度，我們可以設定這兩個人的外貌相似而性格迥異。筆者結合自身在高中小學都有雙胞胎姐妹的個人經歷，將選材定為一對twin sisters.
詞彙準備：
表示個性：Personalities/ characters/ characteristics
表示相同（似）：look alike / like 2 peas in a pod(習語) / tell…apart/ tell A from B
表示不同：The (complete) opposite / another story /on the contrary
描述相處：Keep each other's company all the time
語法準備：
一般現在時。這是最主要的時態,要注意動詞的第三人稱單數的變化。
現在完成時。通常在表述認識多久的時候使用，比如We've been friends for more than 10 years.或者是I've known him for almost 5 years.
一般過去時。比如可以把過去的外貌和現在做一個比較：She used to be a tomboy. But now she's grown into an elegant young lady.
虛擬語氣。表示希望自己也可以有這樣的家人，比如I wish I could have a sister just like her.
Sample answer:
To start with, the two individuals that I'd like to talk about are twin sisters, one is named Lily, and the other is Lucy. We went to the same high school together, which means I've known them for quite some time. As I mentioned in the very beginning-they are twins, so it's no surprise that the girls look like two peas in a pod. Believe it or not, having been friends to them for this long, sometimes I still have problems telling them apart. However, the funny thing is that although they look exactly alike, their characteristics are another story. To be more specific, Lily is passionate about outdoor activities, such as badminton, basketball, swimming, you name it. On the contrary, Lucy is more of an indoor kind of girl. You know, she prefers to stay at home, reading a book, surfing the Internet, or something like that. Well, no matter how different the sisters are, they have this special bond that could never be broken. For example, when they were at school, they kept each other's company all the time and I have to say that they looked so adorable next to each other. Honestly, I always wish that I could have a twin sister, which I believe could be so much fun! All right, that's my story of the twins.
通過這段範例我們會發現，不管題目是什麼，我們需要在1分鐘的準備時間內迅速的理清自己的邏輯，並且從自己準備過的題目中找到可以借鑑的地方。至於可能出現的follow-up question，難度不大，簡要回答3-4句話即可。
