計算機二級考試是全國計算機等級考試（National Computer Rank Examination，簡稱NCRE）四個等級中的一個等級，由教育部考試中心主辦，考核計算機基礎知識和使用一種高級計算機語言編寫程序以及上機調試的基本技能。考試採用全國統一命題、統一考試的形式。二級的含金量並不高，只能作為大學生所擁有的基本技能。一般來說一年會舉辦3次（部分省份有4次），分別在3月、6月、9月、12月舉行。考試時間為120min。
一、考核內容
程序設計/辦公軟體高級應用級。考核內容包括計算機語言與基礎程序設計能力，要求參試者掌握一門計算機語言，可選類別有高級語言程序設計類、資料庫程序設計類等（如下圖）；二級還包括辦公軟體高級應用能力，要求參試者具有計算機應用知識及MS Office辦公軟體的高級應用能力，能夠在實際辦公環境中開展具體應用。
二、考試方式
計算機二級考試採用無紙化上機考試，機考120分鐘，滿分100分。計算機二級考試實行成績等第制，成績等第分為「優秀」、「良好」、「及格」、「不及格」四等。100-90分為「優秀」，89-80分為「良好」，79-60分為「及格」，59-0分為「不及格」。考試成績優秀者，在證書上註明「優秀」字樣；考試成績良好者，在證書上註明「良好」字樣；考試成績及格者，在證書上註明「合格」字樣。
