萊昂納爾·裡奇（Lionel Richie），1949年6月20日出生在阿拉巴馬州的Tuskegee， 他可謂是80年代美國搖滾樂壇最耀眼的歌星之一,內地聽眾最熟悉的恐怕就是那首《SAY YOU SAY ME》了，其成就在80年代有重要貢獻。

　　萊昂納爾·裡奇是在Tuskegee學院的校園裡成長起來的，60年代中期，他在那裡建立了一支頗為成功的R&B樂隊。1968年，他成為Commodores(海軍司令合唱團）的主唱手兼薩克斯手，這支由他和自家兄弟合組的樂隊在以後的數年裡取得了輝煌的成績。Richie的《Can't Sloro Down》專輯在世界各地的總銷售量僅次於 Michael Jackson 的《Thriller》；他擔任了 Kenny Rogers 最暢銷單曲《Lady》的製作；製作並與 Diana Ross 合唱了暢銷單曲《Endless Love》；Richie還是兩次奧斯卡電影歌曲得主及譽滿全球的歌曲《We Are The World》、《Say you say me》的共同作曲者。眾多的音樂獎殊榮以及在音樂排行榜上創下的驕人成績都證明了Richie不愧為80年代樂壇無可比擬的閃亮巨星
